Title: "I Love Our City" - another Ko FILK
Post by: Samuraiko on April 10, 2013, 05:11:28 PM
No joke - I just wrote this in about all of five minutes, after reading the GamaSutra article about the closure of Paragon and COH.

*****

"I Love Our City"
(To the tune of "I Love the Whole World")

I love my blaster
I love Freaks speaking leet
I love enhancements
I love my glowing feet
I love our City
Corruptor LFT
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada

I love invasions
I love the Ski Chalet
I love the tram rides
I love stomping on Crey
I love our City
Even the Shadow Shard
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada

I love task forces
I love mothership raids
I love getting nukes
I love my dual blades
I love our City
And the Rogue Isles too
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada

I love masterminds
I love Dev Coffee Talk
I love old Faultline
I love that we can WALK
I love our City
Thirty-three Atlas Parks
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada

I miss chat channels
I miss gaming weekends
I miss the teaming
I miss my global friends
I miss our City
I just want to go home
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada
Boom de yada

*****

And now I'm crying at work.

your song made me smile, 'Ko. But...

...As much as I love seeing new media posts about the closure and getting the screen time, I feel like every time I have to read about it again, I get more and more bitter and sad about it. This still sucks.  Months later and its still like a shank to the guts. I miss our city.

Wonderful KO.

People, I know this is just me talking but we have to do things like this to keep the city alive. Sing, dance, draw, write, make films, make songs... the more of this we do, the more likely Paragon stays viable as a property. And perhaps one day down the road (hopefully soon) people will notice and say 'hey, people still love that game. I wonder if we could get it started again?'

just my wild ramblings after work. take it for what you will.

I didn't meant it as a rallying call or anything like that... It really was just inspired by a thought as I was reading the GamaSutra article. I have these weirdo creative moments.

This is a really great little number. :D (Those commercials are some of my favorite--and I like their parodies using CoH clips.) Too bad we can't get his recorded and add some demos. It'd be great. :D

Why couldn't we? Music composing software is easy and cheap to get(I have Garage Band on my iPhone for example), and microphones aren't that expensive either, all it would take is a few folks who know how to compose the music and/or can sing, so what's there to stop us?
