And I agree.
Not to say the various farewell videos aren't GORGEOUS and well-done. And I don't want to discourage them at ALL, since we need to be reminded of what we've lost - it's important to maintain our resolve.
But there are other ways as well. And one of those is to remember the GOOD times. The FUN times.

Now if we could just put together a 'farewell' video in this kinda format...; I wish I had the programs/equipment to do it myself, but I could imagine the opening sequence of it to go something like this(filmed as if it were during CoHs final hours/minutes)...:

'...what the frak do you MEAN, -THREE- minutes, not 30?!?' -CapeMike busts out cellphone[cellphone emote]- 'Hey, guys, dump everything, we're going right to the comedic montage finale!!'
-A 3rd Hero[perhaps a CoH celebrity, maybe Tony or Mercedes?] responds-
'What about the 13 frogs and 27 gallons of Tang?'
'Throw 'em at the NCSoft execs!!!! ...finale, gogogoGO!!'
*Abrupt camera blackout with accompanying 'record scratch' sfx*

At this point, you could fill the remaining time with lots of wacky moments and 'bloopers' highlighting real or imagined scenarios we've all experienced; pulls gone horribly wrong, etc, etc....
...does this sound like a viable or even doable idea??
...p.s.: CapeMike is my own MA/SR Scrapper...just inserting him here as an example...though I would be wide open to voicing him if someone -did- use him.... :D

We were in a SG specifically created to help keep Gail Simone's (yes, THAT Gail Simone) toon's alive. If there was the oomphalos from which the essence of blapperdom flows, she was it. Leroy Jenkins took lessons from Gail, I swear.
The mish would go something like this:
We all stand around while the TWO or THREE healers/trollers buffed. She'd at least stick around for that. Then off she would go, with the tank pelting after her in pursuit.
Gail: "This place is empty!"
Gail: "I think we got a bugged mish!"
We watch as Gail's health bars suddenly drop like the Hindenberg.
Gail: "Found them...."

ROFL - Man does this bring back memories from many a mish. Just using this scenario with any one of the hundreds of players (including myself at some point!) I've played with! HAHA!
Oh man that also brings to mind a sobering thought as well... how many *hundreds* if not *thousands* of individual people have I teamed with over the years? A special few throughout, but seriously... I've kept myself busy and kind of blocked it out I think until just now. All those people... I really miss you guys in there. I'm glad many of you are here now. Ok back to work for me.

Yeah. I know that scenario. Scrapper is my main class. Yet two of my favorite characters were blasters with /EM secondaries. So I'd VERY easily slip into "blapper" mode if something got up in my face.
If I had just recently BEEN playing a scrapper and alt-switched to one of those blasters, I could VERY easily forget my role at that point and go charging off down a corridor "Han Solo screaming after the Storm Troopers" style.
Which... would usually go about as well as you'd expect. :roll:

... fall off the CLIFF I didn't see there until the last moment....

...and wind up in the gulch itself surrounded by +5 Purple Igneaus! >.<
...I learned to really adore and WORSHIP at the feet of the Taxibots when they were around.

From two rooms away, the wife literally had to ask me to stop snorting, because I was messing up her team speak.

Two instances of comedy gold that I REALLY wish I'd thought to film.
The first was Lobster Racing, aka the Atlas Park 500.
Some bright soul a while back figured out that Kheldians in lobster form, if they turned on Hover, did the /benchsit emote, and held down the down and forward keys, could go zooming around in that position. So one afternoon, I said, "Hey, why don't we get a bunch of /kins, line up the Lobsters, speed boost them all, and then have them race around the streets of Atlas Park?"
We had volunteers stand with torches about every 200 yards or so to denote the racetrack, set up a start/finish line, the whole schmear. Then one person would stand in front of the line, macro the 3-2-1 judge signs, and then blow a whistle. And this little fleet of Kheldians would go racing around Atlas Park like some demented bumper car derby. Absolute hysterical chaos.
The second was Council Skeet Shooting.
You needed at least a couple people for this. Someone with Teleport Foe stands near Moonfire or Ravenstorm, and yanks a random Council agent up to them. If that same person has a major 'launch' power (ie something with knockback), they then send them flying (I often use Power Thrust). Anyone else with blaster powers then tries to hit the Council schmuck after he's been launched into the air.
My husband and I were killing time waiting to start a Moonfire by doing this... then a group of players about to start a Hess wandered past and decided to join us. Then another group of players. We must have had like 20 people on the ground opening fire every time I yanked and smacked a Council. People were just howling with laughter.

This is EXACTLY what I'm taking about...if there were a way to 'arrange' this in a demorecord setting...it'd make for a hilarious movie...but replace the Council mobs with suited businessmen for a certain company who's name shall not be spoken.... *evil grin*

LOL these stories are hilarious, primarily because I've been on each and every similar team and/or situation! :)
My favorite is when I played an empathy defender.
Me: Okay, if we can all TRY to stay somewhat close, my heals will be more effective.
Team: Sounds reasonable. Let's stick with the tank.
Scrapperboy: ...
Some fighting ensues.
Scrapperboy notices a corridor to the west although the rest of us, following the tank, heads north. I watch my map. I see Scrapperboy's blip heading down the corridor. Yes, I cave and follow him. Running back and forth, like a crazy man...to group...then to Scrapperboy...to group, then back to Scrapperboy. I'm burning calories by using fingers alone!
Scrapperboy: Uh...Empathy-Guy! Heal meh! Heal meh!
Me: I'm doing my best. It would be easier if you were with the group.
Scrapperboy: ...
And the inevitable happens. He dies when I'm shifting my attention to the team.
Scrapperboy: You @#)(*$@ healer! What type of healer are you?! Ever hear of RECALL FRIEND?! I need a rez now!
Me: Okay...as soon as it recharges.
Thirty minutes pass and we're doing awesome... red blip down that western corridor mumbling all the way.
Scrapperboy: Rez pls? Anybody have an awaken?!
Me: Still recharging.
Blaster: Sorry, no wakies.
Controller-Girl: I'm all out of every inspiration known to man.
Tank: *snort*
Scrapperboy: You all suck! I could do so much better without you all! *quits team, leaves mission*
Me: Rez up.
