I know we are trying to do something directly constructive, and if we can help it, get a kickstarter going to pay for it. However if NC doesn't wanna play ball id like to make this suggestion, particularly to Tonyv
When Mass Effect 3 came otu the community was outraged and many groups got together and made kickstarters to act a donations to different charities, with the express purpose of showing how much money they were willing to give for a better ending
Now i do like this idea, but again not until we know whether or not NC will play ball with the IP, don't want peoples money disappearing before we really truly need it.

o.o you shouldn't be seeing any kickstarters for this till word is heard back from NCsoft. The parameters of the kickstarter can't really even be set up until its known which of the options they might be willing to go with. The money involved in buying the IP is most likely significantly larger than just renting or getting them to keep the servers up while the community covers the upkeep costs..

never argued that, just a suggestion as a last ditch protest

Actually as a suggestion, in the worst case, it's a really good idea. Finding the right charaties might be a chore, but one last act as a community would make a powerful statement. Again only if everything else fails, but I'd be willing to chip in :D

If we decide we want to do this, why not just use the charities from Real World Hero? No sense reinventing the wheel (assuming all the previous wheels still exist).
