Title: Mids for I21?
Post by: Robotech_Master on September 12, 2011, 02:11:26 AM
Is there going to be a Mids build incorporating the new power changes and power pools from Issue 21 any time soon? I'd like to spec out a respec for my Energy/Energy Brute, and Energy Aura is getting some pretty big changes with the update.

There will be an update for I21. (http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,4209.msg39274.html#msg39274) With or soon after I21.

I believe it was mentioned that a preliminary version of sorts will be released, then a more complete one later?

What was decided exactly?

Once I21 goes live, then I'll need a bit of time to go through and make sure we catch any stealth buffs/nerfs to powers (there are a few I know of already, like the cone attack in Kinetic Melee getting buffed but not mentioned in the patch notes, even though I reported it in the forums). After that, I'll release it with Time Manipulation and Beam Rifle. I already have the data for Street Justice, but I'm not going to put it in until Street Justice is available in-game (that'll be the next update). At this point, none of the special mechanics for Time, Beam, or Street Justice will work. How long until I can get them to work is... unknown.

I'm guessing you'll also have to manually delete the data for [Redacted] F[Redacted] as well, unless you're going to parse the product catalog and filter out powersets that have a release date in the future :P

Luckily, my import gives me a list of all the things it wants to import, and checkboxes so that I can manually ignore something... like [Redacted] and Street Justice.

I'm back now guys sry been away for awhile been busy with work and all. But I'm back now =) diellan which special mechanics are you having a problem with as far as with Street Justice?  I ask cause I myself added this set to my own mids via the db editor (I know were not really supposed to lol but I was bored and I spent enough time understanding how the db works persay so figured id do it.) But anyways maybe I can help a bit =)

let me see what i got ill let you know in a few

*I was double checking things I believe what I did may not be 100% accurate but it did seem logical and I believe my numbers were close enough to the actual in game dmg rate. What I did is I took into account that the buildup equivalent for street justice takes your combo to x3 which at x3 provides a 50% dmg buff to most dmg types. I believe I took that and divided it into 3rds to reach the x1, x2, x3 combo dmg totals for each combo rate.* Hope this helps some.

Just speaking for myself and the very lovely, yet pushy woman for whom I make builds regularly I cannot say how much I would love to have the new build.  In fact, if it'll help, I'll even beg.  Pride means little in the face of her ire.

So...  Please, please, please, please give us the results of your tireless and amazing skill!

Are you not able to log into the COH forums? If so there is a work around for it. Log into your account management and change your password, you can use the same password too. It works I had to do that too.

You have to change your CoH password, not your NCSoft password. You have to do it from the game management section.

I wish the new Mids would hurry and come out! I want to respec my Energy Aura Brute. :(

Go here, but replace USERNAME with your CoH Master ID
https://secure.ncsoft.com/account/coh/USERNAME (https://secure.ncsoft.com/account/coh/USERNAME)

Then Choose Actions:Change Password and simply type in your current game password twice. That Should get you back in, but you may need to delete your cookies afterwards and/or wait 15min. I did it and got in right away so it depends on how busy the system is.
Title: Re: Mids for I21?
Post by: Coolio_Wolfus on September 19, 2011, 10:53:46 AM
Feel free to pass this information around.

1. Delete your boards.cityofheroes.com cookie.
2. Go into your NCMaster account.
3. Select CoH.
4. Select Change Game Password.
5. Enter anything other than your existing game pass and ok it.
6. Select Change Game Password.
7. Re-enter your current game pass and ok it.
8. Go to the CoH Forums and login. (With "Remember Me" checked.)

If the forums keep logging you out after this then it is a CoH Serverside issue.

And a vbulletin known issue, as the following I PM'd the Community Team on the official CoH forums will attest.

Quote
Quote
https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/386855-Login-problem

Quote
Are you trying to login from a different subdomain to the domain listed in your sites settings ? If you are trying to login from http#//yourwebsite.com when your settings are set at http#//www.yoursite.com then you will get login problems.

Your cookie domain needs to be set to your domain to stop subdomains from doing this, Settings = Cookie and HTTP header setting = Cookie domain = change setting to .yourdomain.com

Another way to solve it would be to redirect your www. to your non www or visa versa.

NOTE: changing the cookie domain option mentioned above may have issues with your current members login or changing passwords as vB does NOT remove the old sub-domain specific cookies. There is a work around for that but it means editing files so since your site is only a week old it might be worth trying it and seeing if there is problems.

https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/347798-Problem-User-Cannot-login

Quote
If you have already run the install/upgrade_402_salt.php script already then everyone in this thread should try this fix...

1) Reset the Cookie Path and Cookie Domain to the defaults. You should only change these if you have multiple vBulletin systems installed on the same domain.

2) Open your config.php file and change the cookie_prefix variable from 'bb' to 'vb'.

This should require everyone to log in again but the password hash will take into account the 30 digit salt as opposed to the 3 digit salt in previous versions. The 30 Digit Salt was introduced in vBulletin 3.8.5 and 4.0.2 PL3.

https://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php/347798-Problem-User-Cannot-login?p=1970320&viewfull=1#post1970320

Quote
To recap, the problem that I and others in this thread have reported was that including or not including www in the forum address caused problems in logging in. For example, "http://www.mysite.com" allowed me to login correctly where "http://mysite.com" would not work. Setting the cookie domain to "mysite.com" solved the problem. Now logins from either address work correctly and the cookies are functional in allowing automatic logins from either address where before they would not. It should be noted that any old cookies that date prior to chaning the cookie domain need to be deleted by users. Otherwise, the login problems will continue.

There you have it, the domain needs setting correctly at Paragon Studio's end and the users need to delete their boards.cityofheroes.com cookie to force it to update from the old one to the new one, this should fix the forum login/mid use logout issues, please refer this info to the web/forum team and get it tested asap.

One small warning on the password reset issue, if your user name is 14+ characters in length, changing your password will lock you out of the game.

I personally haven't been able to play since I reset my password last Wednesday   :'(  So far I've seen all of 5 minutes of Issue 21

Deleting the cookies and resetting my password worked when I did it twice in a row, so I'm back in the CoH forums. Thank goodness, now I can waste time there instead of working on Mids.

Just kidding. :P

Lets back off a bit and give Diellan and the gang some breathing space.

Im sure as soon as the code is ready for public release it will be.

Just wanted to pop on real quick to say that I love having Mids around, it's definitely been very useful.

As a side-note, you don't need to release an update with -everything- that's in Issue 21, just release the Beam Rifle and Time manipulation sets, that's the most important part, and I'm sure the part that everyone is looking forward to so they can start building an idea for what they want to do with their characters.

Title: Re: Mids for I21?

New Warmace weapon skin - Flyswatter with Diellan's Mids Avatar on it.
Add a new flying enemy (anthorpomorphic Fly).
This Warmace does +50% damage and +50% ToHit against the new foe.
Upon defeat by this item the foes body lies in a squashed state (visually the body is thinner and wider than normal) with the occational twitch of a limb or wing.

After x number of hits however the Flyswatter's visuals start to change and becomes "curved/warped".
As this occurs the bonus ToHit reduces over time.
You need to "buy" a new one to reset the visuals and bonus by going to the Tailor and changing your Weapon in someway.

Wow - this went further than I thought it would.
Back to work you time-a-wasters!!!!!

Diellan WANTS to get it out ASAP after the weekend, but unforseen stuff can and often DOES happen. Please don't take one sentence and assume that it means something completely different.
