Title: Injustice 2
Post by: Dev7on on June 06, 2017, 10:59:06 PM
Does anybody own Injustice 2? I've been watching the gameplay on Youtube and I'm fascinated by the cinematic cutscenes. If I own the game Flash and Supergirl would be my main characters.

i don't really do fighting games, but I make an exception for DC - it's worth getting just for the ridiculous amounts of sass that most characters display before fighting - it's some of the finest comic book cheese available.
The implausibly awesome super-moves and stage transitions are also great.
Although the plot is implausible even by comic standards, it does have some great character moments, and one of the endings is seriously dark and messed up.

What's great is that it's not just a fighting game. There is a whole story behind it and its even part of the multiverse in DC Comics.

A friend of mine has it, and there's a lot of stuff in it that really makes me wish I liked the gameplay...  but it's been awhile since there was a fighting game I really enjoyed playing, and the Injustice style of play just isn't fun for me.

I played the first through the story and about half the character endings then got bored and just watched the rest on da yoobs. Thinking I'll just yoobs all of it this time around. I'm really about twenty years past being into fighting games but at least the gameplay was old school Street fighter-y enough to be nostalgic fun for a bit.

The big problem with 2.5D games and superheroes is that the scale of superhero action really demands a full 3D environment to work in - super-moves and stage transitions can only take it so far.

Also, without getting too spoilery, does anyone else think that while the good ending feels like it's the canon ending, the evil ending feels like a much stronger set-up for a sequel?

I thought about that too.
