Actor Ron Glass, of Firefly and Barney Miller fame, died at age 71 on Friday, November 25th, of respiratory failure.

He will be missed.

I didn't know he was from Indiana... my home state.  My earliest recollection of him was as one of those "Hey, it's that guy" character actors in sitcoms like in 227 and Family Matters, not to mention a terrible Sabrina The Teenage Witch spinoff (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0118487/).

I'm glad he was in Firefly/Serenity.  I can't imagine anyone else as Shepard Book.
