So, one of my friends is absolutely gushing about this game's combat system and PVP. I've seen some gameplay.
I refuse to pay NCsoft any money just because I'm a vindictive waffle, but I was wondering how much enjoyment you guys derived from it.

I think like you, most everyone else here, myself included, hasn't touched it either, because we're all hesitant to trust investing into another NCSoft game for obvious reasons...

I honestly tried a few NCSOFT games after COH. I figured, meh they got it right with COH maybe they have another diamond. So I tried GW2, Lineage, and Wildstar. Their all okay..... but I wouldn't pay for them and they can't keep my interest long enough. To play them for long periods of time.
I was interested in Blade & Soul when I first heard about it but it's been so long. The wait honestly killed any interest I had in the game.

If the in-game store let's you pay to remove clothing it's basically porn-based revenue. I'm not going anywhere near it. Too creepy.

I thought B&S was going to be F2P in NA/EU.
It's character designer is one of the detailed I've seen in a game, allowing you to adjust even the bone length of major bones in the body. However it also has several controls simply for the breasts of female characters, a "hot oil" setting to glisten up a character's skin, the designer puts female characters in a variety of lingerie. You can save these designs for future "reference" as well as capture other player's character body "design" for your "lingerie clad women locked in the basement" collection.
It's a shame really, there are some features of character creating that is really cool, like an aging feature so you don't create an "old" character from pre-existing assets but letting you create a younger character and age them. Also the ability to select from several voices for your character so you don't get just your one gender/race voice for your character.
I did see some a video from there localization team and it does look fairly well done and the wind walking mechanic looks fun but open world PvP isn't for me. I'm more of a story/exploration kind of player who only dabbles in PvP.

I think Black Desert has it beat in more ways than one. Graphics aren't all that matters to me (really most of the time don't matter at all) but those characters in Black Desert look so freaking real and beautiful.
edit: holy moly looks like the us/canada version of black desert will be available early in 2016.

I have always been a big a pretty big fan of them. Can't say I have a big interest in Blade and Soul though
