Title: Account Cleanup
Post by: Sekoia on July 14, 2015, 09:19:09 PM
On June 14, we changed our password hashing scheme so that it is vastly more secure. However, there are numerous accounts that still have an older, insecure hash. To better protect our users' security, we are planning to delete all insecure hashes from our database on January 1, 2016. Affected users will have to use the "Reset Password" option to regain access to their accounts.

Making sure your account's password hash is secure is super easy: just log in at http://cohtitan.com/login (http://cohtitan.com/login). That's it! When you log in at that site, your hash will automatically be rehashed for improved security. While you're there, please also double check that your email address is correct.

When we clear insecure passwords, we'll also be taking the opportunity to delete unused accounts. An unused account is one that meets all of the following criteria:
In other words, as long as there's at least some indication that you've at some point actually used your account, we'll leave it be. We're just looking to clear accounts that are 100% unused and abandoned.

One exception to the above: if your account is not using an updated secure hash and you do not have a valid email address on file, we may delete your account even if it had activity since you would have no way to regain access to your account and we would have no way to verify that it's yours.

If you're not sure if your account is safe, it's super easy to make sure it's kept: just log in at http://cohtitan.com/login (http://cohtitan.com/login). That's it!
