If you are running Paragon Chat 0.97c or later and find that some costume parts are missing or locked, please report them here, with as much detail about the part in question as possible.
I think I got most of them in the 0.97 sweep, but there are a lot of costume parts.
IMPORTANT: I am only looking for reports of pieces that existed in the game and have now gone missing, preventing loading of costumes saved from live. Icon or NPC parts are not included in this. This is also not a thread for requesting costume parts that were not available to players on live.
-
Kind of linked.
Looks like the skirt patterns have vanished in this patch.
Noticed it on an edit of an existing costume, but there aren't any patterns in the drop down.
Shout if this is the wrong location.
-
Not just skirt patterns but also armored torso and legs patterns are missing. For example the Tech Wired chest and legs can only display the Tech Wired pattern (listed as "No Selection Available").
-
Two costume pieces I have are still there, BUT, the mask texture seems to be completely broken.. The pieces are:
Texture1 Texture2
!X_Organic_Armor_Chest_01 !CHEST_Tiger
!X_Organic_Armor_Hips_01 !HIPS_Tiger
It SHOULD look like this:
(https://bmwohg.bn1302.livefilestore.com/y3paAHIULYtbiF2fJD5vkB3EfdcVbTqNbiv88IrCjYwOUnNYEa16vhdmzoSLeuz65DEb0xdwg6mHwHLxeavtFGTM0wvD67yyQadxPg8KyfIw3nMtWXGGdEAjSTxfom7zeK-5vuMaMoTYxorvgy_PJJgR7WvLqTszXmj9ttsX67E9XA/TWRight.png?psid=1)
But instead I get:
(https://opameg.by3301.livefilestore.com/y3p0gKU4tINaqiraIt4GIGnpOAEv51bl87Uk2ec3lPqVetd16N_uipEL4FJJGdrqlohvYaadvyEL0vo9vA-MYeZtnJZOX96f2m80DrGWP2of4Ct9wDNHBgWBEf7sVllP3Y6CdbSaN5FKot4kTJc4KU0_kM-mWfILrAz9_EW7Fj10BQ/TWWrong.png?psid=1)
As you can see, the mask is buggered. I suspect it's due to this:

How ICON shows it is how the costume was back in Live CoH.
-
Two so far. Both work in 0.95 and do not work in 0.97c
Female model, gloves, smooth/bare, the "Full" gloves no longer the application of a pattern.
Female model, upper body, chest, the "buckled leather" is no longer available with patterns. Instead, it applies the colors to the part.
Female model, bottoms, bottom, buckled leather no longer offers the tribal pattern, applying the colors to the part.
-
Okay, I think I've got the issue with masks not wanting to apply to some pieces solved. It should be fixed in the next update.
-
Female model, I have a costume saved with the Chest - Tights option set to Flack Jacket. In Icon, it properly shows the availability of patterns, including the "Stars 2" pattern from the costume file. However, in Paragon Chat, the Flack jacket says "no selection available" for patterns.
Edit: Should probably note the costume was pulled from a Sentinel file.
-
I didn't notice any costume parts missing per say, but something weird happened shortly after I had played around at the Tailor for a while...
All the costume pieces were unlocked and working fine. Saved the ones I liked and filled all the costume slots. I moved from the Independence Port tailor to Pocket D, and went to adjust a mistake I made, only to find all the buyable costume parts locked, and the Ascended and Black Knight pieces missing (Im sure others were as well, but those are the ones that stick out the most since I used them quite a bit.)
Relogged, updated to Paragon Chat 0.97d, tried to head to another tailor... No luck.
Oddly enough, the costumes parts I can no longer access are still seen on the costumes I have already made (and I'm truly grateful for all that!) But, I'm not a code person and I couldn't tell you what might have happened where... So, hopefully this helps at least a little bit...
-
so i was editing costume bits today
and notived my characters gloves were shiny
they used to be:
Smooth->Rough leather->Celtic
but now they can only be
Smooth->rough Leather-|Rough Leather|
the third box is NA
Similar issues for anything with rough leather
ie monsterous->rough leather
or boots
smooth/stilettoes ect.
I know im at least 97c
-
That particular issue is fixed in 0.97d, Vr2Lrose
-
I had thought it downloaded to 97d but it probibly did not.
I will check it after i wake up thanks for fixing the issue before i found it.
-
The Pumpkin head is missing.
Special Helmets, with the Arachnos stuff, is where it shows up in Icon.
Happy Halloween! :D

Here's a costume piece description from a costume file. This is for a female character. It loads in, I can see it in preview correctly, but it claims not to be able to find this. It's a very old costume, so it may be a discontinued costume piece. I suppose if it IS discontinued and by some miracle we do get the game back this costume is doomed.

Is that the skirt with horizontal slits? Haven't seen that in ages.

If it is, it may be one of the versions where the skirts were turned sideways. You could keep the costume in game as long as you never edited it, but it may make things wonky for Icon and Paragon Chat.
-

That's exactly what it is. I looked and found it as tiny shorts but couldn't find my way to the skirt. The old skirt looked much more modest than those shorts. I do recall it being sideways very briefly, but they fixed that right away. Irritating that I can see it, which means its in there somewhere, but I can't use it. Not a huge deal.

The "Athletic" top & shorts are missing for the girls

There's a replacement, Mini->Box Cut that was introduced at some point. I'm looking at it in the tailor now.

Bumping this thread a little since I haven't seen anything new here, and dunno where else to ask about it...
I have updated to the latest edition of the chat client (0.97f) and still have everything that could be locked in the costume creator locked.
Since everyone else I speak to there seems to be able to access everything, I'm beginning to think it's something on my end that is sending a message to the server that everything should be locked out... (Basically, making it look like I'm a Free Account that hasn't bought anything.)
Mind you, this is just supposition on my part, since, as I have said before, I dunno much of anything about the coding involved. Anyone else with better knowledge and insight into this sort of thing have any thoughts?
-
Try creating a new character and see if things are still locked. If that doesn't work, rename your database file and try with a fresh one.

I have updated to the latest edition of the chat client (0.97f) and still have everything that could be locked in the costume creator locked.
If your COH directory is under Program Files or Program Files (x86), it might be UAC interfering with the costume file override that Paragon Chat uses to unlock the costumes. Try running it as administrator (right-click, Run as Administrator) and see if that helps.
-
When I installed 0.966, I created a Mastermind (Mercs + Pain Dom). When it came to weapons, i had a slew of options to choose from (i chose dual weapons).
with 0.97F, i only have ~10 weapons to choose from, dual weapons not among them (this is at the character creation at the beginning and I haven't checked tailor).
edit: mods, you can delete this post. I figured out that I had chosen 'THUGS' before, which has dual pistol weaponry, whereas Mercs have assault rifle. sorry about that.
-
Just a quick update here.
Tried making a new character and things were still locked. So, tried running as Administrator, and that seemed to do the trick.
Thanks FFM and Codewalker for the suggestions.
-
Figured I'd add to the party, since I just found one using PChat 0.97f.
Wisp aura is not available.
Fx auras/male/wisps/wisps_fistsandeyes_combat.fx
Geometry none
Texture1 none
Texture2 none

I'm making do with the Firefly aura for the time being.

Talons of Vengeance is completely bugged for me, you go to it and it just gives you a plain and broken up version of the costume set you were just on. I also tried multiple times of resetting Paragon Chat or leaving the creator and going back in and the bug is still there.
-
Oops, those shouldn't even be unlocked. They're unfinished and don't work anyway.

I found some of these pieces in Icon, seemed to work okay there?
I sure would love to use the long skirt in PC...

Icon and Paragon Chat work in many fundamentally different ways. In the case of costumes a lot f that is down to synchronization. Icon runs entirely on your computer and doesn't have to be synched up with anything else. Paragon Chat has to synchronize your costume to a server so what everyone else sees the same thing. in the case of malfunctioning costumes, that breaks down.
-
Falcata swords seem to be missing for me. I know they are weapons, which don't show up in the chat, but still a missing piece.
-
Weapons are currently not in the unlock list, because unlocking restricted weapons without unlocking them for everyone isn't currently possible with the way the unlocks work. Paragon Chat will need to learn some more tricks to know about specific costume keys tied to powersets instead of simply removing them all.
And doing that is not a good idea. The costume creator interface gets seriously confused when you have multiple weapon categories that share the same costume slot available to choose from.
-
Not exactly a missing piece, but an issue. I created an Arachnos Soldier. With the female model, I loaded up a costume pulled from Sentinel. With this archetype, you've got the "Wolf & Helm" and "Bane / Crab" options, which determine everything else you can get. With the "Wolf & Helm" selected, which is what I had for the costume in Sentinel / CoV, there is no option to remove the crab backpack. It's under the "Back" option. There should definitely be a way to remove that, since my costume as saved did not have the crab backpack. Plus that should really be kept in the Crab options, right?
-
That was how it worked on live too, if you were a crab spider. The instant you took one of the crab powers, all your costumes had the crab pack regardless of anything else and there was almost no way to ever get rid of it unless you respecced. It was done that way because many of the crab powers strictly required that costume part for their animations, if it wasn't there strange things happened.
For Paragon Chat though, should probably be an optional thing if that's possible.

Like shooting out of your toe. I made a character with peg legs to obtain maximum hilarity out of that.
-
Perhaps this is more "feature begging" than a missing costume piece, but...
To replicate my main Blaster, I added "CustomizeablePowers/Gadgets/Drone.fx" to his costume so that the Targeting Drone would appear. I can see it, but Paragon Chat 0.98a tells me it's an invalid aura. Could the Targeting Drone possibly be made valid, or would that just open the door for loud/obnoxious effects to be used as auras?

Well, I was able to go into Facemaker and change one of the non-EAT slots to a regular civilian costume I had saved, with no backpack. And I clearly don't have any crab powers.
-
I think the issue is that the "Arachnos Uniform" costume slot doesn't have a 'None' option for the back slot, so if the crab arms are unlocked then they are the only choice for that slot.
Hmm, not sure how to resolve that. Adding an entry to the costume list is big can of worms much more complicated than just removing requirements. And the way I'm currently removing the requirements involves patching the costume.bin file (that's the only way to make the Incarnate merit unlocks available at character creation thanks to hardcoded dumbness), so it has to be done before the client is launched and can't be changed hot.
-
Latest version of Paragon Chat. While I was recreating Demgoddess' main costume, I noticed that the "tiara" I have for her in this original screenshot from way back was not available. I had to make do with one of the barbarian crowns.

Oh, okay. Thanks. I guess that's one thing that still confuses me about the combined areas of the costume editor that were done one issue.

Hey folks! Going to throw something into this pile since it seems to have gone a bit stale...
I'm seeing a bit missing from the VEAT (Arachnos Widow, Wolf, Bane/Crab) that is at least present in Icon, and from what I recall I think was on live as well...
First is the complete lack of crab backpacks. However, given the previous messages- specifically this one from CW:
I think the issue is that the "Arachnos Uniform" costume slot doesn't have a 'None' option for the back slot, so if the crab arms are unlocked then they are the only choice for that slot.
Hmm, not sure how to resolve that. Adding an entry to the costume list is big can of worms much more complicated than just removing requirements. ... I'm going to assume it's very well known that they're missing, until determined how to be tweaked around to work as desired.
Beyond that, is the "Wolf" costume set option. This is the third option of costume type, outside of "Wolf & Helm" and "Bane/Crab" which allows a complete lack of helmets with the Wolf body armor and such.
You can load costumes from this set, but are unable to create them from scratch- or switch to them from the EAT costume types even after being loaded...

Don't think I've seen it mentioned here thus far, so tossing it into the pile in case it was not previously identified! :D

The 'Post Apocalyptic' costume pieces always show up completely white-out for me. I'm updated to the latest version, on a Windows platform. No idea why it shows up like that. Even in the tailor it does. It's be nice to see what those pieces look like!
-
That means that you're not using the ultra-mode shaders -- the ones that support things like normal maps. Those pieces have fallback textures for the old rendering path defined, but the textures don't actually exist. Since those costume pieces were not released yet, presumably that's something that would have been completed prior to them becoming available.
Since the costume pieces themselves are unfinished, there isn't a whole lot we can do about that. However, pretty much any video card made in the last 8-10 years should support a high enough OpenGL feature level to use the ultra-mode shaders, even if they can't run the fancier features and have to turn off things like ambient occlusion or reflections.
The easiest way to do that is to turn on advanced graphics options, bump the shadow setting up to anything above Low (Medium is just fine), then hit apply. Even if you turn it back down to Low afterward to go back to simple shadows, the newer shaders will still be in use.
If that still doesn't work, you may be running a very old graphics driver and need to update it. Otherwise please post what you have. Even most integrated graphics chips these days should support the necessary features.
-
Ahh! That worked - the shadow setting. Thank you, CW! Yay more costume pieces to spend hours with!

I don't thing I saw the Witch hat.
