I saw on some forums that there's this app called Gameranger that "its primary function is as a tunneling software for titles developers have given up on. A P2P serverlist, in a way"
This sounds interesting, any way you could get this to start up CoH?

I'm supercurious.
Unfortunately not. Gameranger is like a more advanced "master server" system for older games -- it doesn't run any of the servers, it just keeps a list of servers that people can connect to. If you host a lobby, your computer runs the server -- not Gameranger. It's apples to oranges, unfortunately.
What about Razor? Doesnt that keep UO alive?

The point is that without access to the original server software or a reverse engineered equivalent it is not possible to have a CoH server to play on. No third party software can change that. (Unless it's the aforementioned reverse engineered server software.)
At first, I thought maybe it was a software that took an extremely complex idea or proposal and distilled it down to a single word explaining why it wouldn't work.
Then I realized it was "Gameranger", not "JRanger".
I may be missing this game a bit too much.
I thought of Radiation Sentai Gammaranger, whatever that is.
