Yep, I am haunted daily by the dead icon on my deskstop.  I tried to quit many times over the years, but would always resub before my time ran out.

City of Heroes will always hold a special place for me.  It was my first MMO (and you never forget your first time).

It was my very first MMO, and held my interest for 7+ years...nothing else has ever come close. It felt like a death when it closed.

Healix said it all...Same for me...My first and only MMO, and I played for 7 years...I miss it every single day. I still want to log on and play every single day, and think about it constantly. I didn't play night and day, I only played late at night when everything was quiet. Never was it an obsession to play, I just always enjoyed everything about the game. Most of all, I miss teaming with all of you.

While it wasn't my first MMO(not nearly), it was the only one thats ever maintained my attention for more than a couple years. played it very nearly the entire time, and always had my account active. It really did feel like a friend died when it went dark. :(

I wasn't a very loyal CoH player from the beginning, but about the time NCSoft took over from Cryptic and what would become Paragon Studios started moving the game in new directions CoX became pretty much the only game I ever played and I was very loyal from then on. It just became so comfortable.

Even a year later it's still frustrating not having that reliable retreat. At least Icon lets us mess with with the character editor and run around some of the game maps, and I know that will stay installed here for years to come. So very grateful to CW for all he's done on that, and still hoping to see it taken farther.

CoH was...something special to me. It was my first MMO, and really made up a good chunk of my social life...having had started playing when I was 12, and the game closed when I was 20. I'd be lying if I were to say it, and the people I met through the game, didn't have a major part in molding me. To this day I still will have a dream every now and then, coming up with a new character concept...And then I go and hop onto Icon to make it and just marvel at would could have been.

You are in good company here, Jake.  I am looking forward to the Plan Z projects.

I'm right there with ya Jake I was *Shocked* when I heard the news of the closure. Some days feel worse than others without the Game+Community. Icon.exe can only do so much. Hopefully someone will find a way to bring this back or at least get us all a private server that is Fully Functional so we can all come back home.
