Title: This is why I think it may be possible to find a Michigan company to help us.

Again and again they are filming super hero movies in Michigan.

Nice :),

I was thinking about something similar to this last night. With Saint Row IV (I think it was) and infamous Second Son out. Which both have characters with "super" powers. I was wondering did NCSoft jump the gun on closing City of Heroes? Marvel Movies are huge here in the West and now it seems that DC is getting in on the potential money. Everyone always said City of Heroes was before it's time(myself included) so maybe if NCSoft would of waited another year or two. They themselves would of saw that as well.

Probably wishful thinking on my part but maybe they'll take a second look and fire those servers back up. LOL!

Everytime I hear of a new superhero movie coming out, I think "Perhaps this will be what brings COH back to us?" I don't know. Ok, maybe it's the fact I'm getting over a cold, but NCSoft isn't playing with a full deck. Remember last year when the Korean Times said that NCSoft is a very poor business model and not to invest in them ? Something isn't right with them, I keep praying that something drastic happens to that company and COH is sold off to a company that will treat it right. I agree the game was so far ahead of it's time that perhaps only the upcoming superhero games (CoT, H&V, and VO) will meet or better yet, far surpass, the standards that CoH set. That being said..If someone were to somehow buy the game from them and reopen CoH..OMG i'd be one of the first people to wait in line to enter Paragon City one more time!

Yeah, I was thinking about resubbing to WOW the other day, when I had a thought. Maybe Blizzard would buy COH? I mean it seems their diversifying their portfolio as it is, with Hearth Stone and Hereos of the Storm. Their a western studio with plenty of money (I'd imagine), they rebuilt WOW, so maybe if they bought COH they'd rebuild that to? I'm sure "if" they did buy it, they'd promote it the way it should of been promoted in the first place and they wouldn't be afraid to throw alittle money behind it. Plus since it already has a F2P model built into it. If they was interested in testing the F2P waters, they wouldn't have to do much work with it.

The main downside is Blizzard seems to like creating their own products and I'm not sure how they'd feel about buying an IP from someone else.

Maybe if they saw the potential that City of Hereos had they'd consider it.

Either way, if anyone ever opens the Gates to City of Heroes again. I'll be there, begrungingly if it's NCSoft.....

We can't be sure that they didn't put in a bid and get turned down by NCSoft.

True.... what we need is stalkers in every major corporate building. So we can get the insider info. :P

It wouldn't surprise me though, even if they didn't. If they did in the future NCSoft would probably ask an unreasonable price for the IP.

If they was interested and NCSoft turned them down. Then they'd just make their own, if they was that interested.

SCoRE is the only way we'll ever get CoH back.  For whatever reason, NCSoft just does not want to sell CoH.  Heck, they still refuse to disclose the top secret reasons they shut it down out of the blue in the first place.

I feel bad, but I've been out of the loop for awhile (it was too depressing to hang out here all the time with it only looking bleaker and bleaker, or nothing new I suppose) but what's SCoRE?

The (not so) Secret Cabal of Reverse Engineers.

From what I can gather from over a year here, SCoRE (The Secret Cabal of Reverse Engineers, named by myself and TonyV), is comprised as follows:

Essentially Confirmed Members
Codewalker
Leandro
TonyV

Highly Suspected Members
Aggelakis
Arcana

SCoRE team members are certainly welcome to correct me.   ;)

Arcana

Arcana is more the sage sitting on the mountain top, and isn't (http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,9521.msg137181.html#msg137181) on the project..

I'm more of a mascot than anything else.  I wish I had the coding skills to do what needs to be done.  I have volunteered my services inasmuch as they'd be helpful, but I'm mostly the guy who everyone hates, the guy who keeps saying, "Hey all, so what are we working on?  What's the status of that?  What are the next steps?  When do we think that will be done?  Is there any other resource we need to accomplish that?"  ...and so on.

Other names I can neither confirm nor deny.

You're the guy that goes from cubicle to cubicle with his coffee mug in hand asking "Are you working hard or hardly working?" and trying to make idle chit chat while people are on the phone?  :D

The SCoRE team, and everyone else here if asked by someone from outside these boards, should borrow the official verbage that sailors are taught to use when asked about the presence of nuclear weapons anywhere outside of missile submarines: "While it is not the policy of the SCoRE team to discuss the identities of any particular members, I can neither confirm nor deny my involvement with the Secret Cabal of Reverse Engineers." :)

Hopefully people in the group that doesn't exist hold you in better esteem than that.  It makes you sound like Lundberg.

Seriously.  They aren't even punny.  You could say they are unBEARable.  Oh wait no one said bear..........

In actual seriousness seriously though.  I am grateful for TonyV and SCoRE.  I have before said that I don't trust NCSoft not to come after anyone.  But that isn't in disrespect to TonyV, SCoRE, or COHTitan.  Its in disrespect to NCSoft.  I am glad that we have people who love the game enough to try and bring it back.  I am glad we have the talented coders to do so.  And I am glad that we have a place we can all come together and talk about our game like some kind of crazy online "Cheers."  Being the mascot for the team trying to save CoH is no small task, nor is it a small feat.

Those of us in the fastfood world just say "Let me find my manager." Then walk off and try to wait them out. :P If that don't work, then we say he's in the restroom or on an important phone call.....

100% agreed.

Just saying Hi since I haven't been on the boards here for a while.  I keep hoping I'll see something new with TF Hail Mary.  Looks like I should continue rooting for SCoRE!  Assuming SCoRE exists, Thank you and Good Luck!!
