Anyone else signed up for this?
It's my first year. ;D
Me -- I won it a couple years ago and trying again. But I'm procrastinating now and way behind AAAAAHHHGGGHHH!
If I don't count the prologue (which I'm iffy about) I'm up to 7165 words so far!
Iffy isn't important -- you aren't working on finished text, Nano is an exercise in getting words on paper -- you're expected to throw most of it out later
I've done NaNo twice and won it once. I passed this year due to a full schedule and lack of sufficient ideas but I'm hoping to give it another go next year.
Ohio is right, don't worry about polish right now. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so my biggest problem was the tendency to want to go back, review and revise. It nearly derailed me about mid-month. Re-reading the last few pages to get yourself started again is OK, but any more than that and you're going to get bogged down in wanting to tweak things. Just keep going. You can edit in December. OK, in my case, I left it alone until February to clear my head, but you get the idea.
Good luck to you both!
I'm doing it for the first time this year, a little behind already. But find it fun.
Up to 21,824 words now. :D
And tonight's total brought me up to 24,993 ... only 7 words from being halfway there. :D
I got an email about this thingy a few weeks ago and was considering it, but since I just started a second job last week I just don't have the time I'd need to attempt it...
Might try and finish off my second book before the end of the month, but I'm not sure if I'll even be able to manage that right now... :(
Up to 39,915 words now.
;D
I need one more chapter-- or epilogue-- to wrap things up, but I hit 50,262 words tonight.
Congratulations!

Congratulations!
Thanks. Posted my official validation today. Somehow it lost about 400 words from my Word Document file but it was still enough to declare me a winner. :D
Grats on the win. I came nowhere close.
I compiled a test report that rang in somewhere around 400 pages long just before Thanksgiving. Does that count for Nanowrimo?
