I remember last year I got my newly-made mastermind from 1 to 30 in about an hour or so by participating in a ToT slaughter-fest at that motel across from the hospital in Peregrine. Good times.

Good times for sure, especially after Leagues were introduced.

I loved getting the special salvage, so it could be traded to the Croatoan witch for a costume slot. What fun hitting those regular doors and not knowing what you'd get...so much fun, especially with friends. *sigh*

Halloween was my favorite event. Especially, the zombie attacks. (Then, ToT!) Miss this a lot!

I got the Halloween badges on four or five of my heroes there, too.

The best way to trick-or-treat.

I loved collecting like 19 of each of the Halloween salvage on my 50's and then emailing them to my lowbies to get an extra costume slot right away.

So at level 2 I had 2 costumes and some of the new players kept asking me how I got a 2nd slot at level 2, lol.

I would even give them some since I had plenty and tell them where to bring it.

ToT-ing is definitely something that we'll be bringing back in HaV.

I will be honest how badly I miss this event.

Doesn't help GW2's Halloween event isn't quite so chaotically fun in comparison. Even if Mad King Thorn is the beautiful, Nightmare Before Christmas addicted lovechild of Caligula and Discord. And voiced by Zeratul.

It says a lot about CoH that you can throw something like that out as an example of something not as good as CoH was.

I was one of those jerks who would knock on a door and then run away if I didn't get a treat rather than "cleaning up" the baddies that came out of the door.

I'm in Hawaii so most of you were probably asleep when I did this since I tended to play late at night, but if any of my wandering ghoulies caused any of you undue stress, I offer my sincerest belated apology.  :)

I remember running around GV with a team, hitting as many doors in a line as possible, and just beating the ever living daylights out of the spawns from the doors...We'd rake in millions in a matter of minutes that way. Plus the salvage would get saved up to sell months later, making even more.

If you were on Guardian, thank you! I loved killing the baddies someone left!

I did that too on my emp/rad Defender if there was nobody around to team with (not fun soloing anything bossish and purple with that toon, lol).

I did make up for it on my Mastermind though, by setting his pets to aggressive and letting them hunt down any wandering mobs released by other "knock and run" players :)

*sigh*
Just thinking back to that Event now I can hear perfectly in my mind the sound effects for "treat" or "trick"...
Well, unless I was in a league team at that motel across from the hospital in PI of course, in which I couldn't hear anything but the POWERS!!!!! ;D

I just remember the first time, back in 2004, when I got a rock.  I thought that was the funniest Easter egg ever.

Thank you, everyone who has replied to this with their memories...it's helped!  And thank you, Golden Girl, for saying that ToT will be in HaV...that's given me something to look forward to   :)

And I was the nut case that cared more about beating up mobs than getting a "treat" and followed behind ya and beat the mob you spawn up after you dart.

I was slightly disappointed when I got a "treat".

While I would often get a little tired of Zombie Apocalypse, Halloween was an excellent seasonal event.  I definitely loved ToT'ing especially with friends and SGmates.  The special temporary costumes were great fun!  And, yeah, like everyone we collected the Halloween event salvage like mad and would shelve it so that our various alts could unlock a costume slot throughout the year.   I also liked the various neat Halloween badges, but then I liked just about everything about City of Heroes.

I almost spilled my Diet Coke when that happened to me in 2004.  I could just imagine Charlie Brown in our mob saying that.  Those personal touches sure made the game.

That's exactly what happened.  I was teaming with RL friends and after every treat door we would say what we got.  So I got to say "I got a rock."
