Here is my letter to google. Think it is a little short. Looking for any suggestions for anything to add.
Dear Mr. Patel
I am writing in support of the pitch sent to you regarding the City of Heroes Massively Multiplayer Online game and IP. I am a long time player of the game and would love to see it returned to availability. I subscribed to the game from its inception until closing, and would be more than willing to pay for the privilege of playing the game again.
City of Heroes has been the only online experience to consistently engage my interest. When it closed I felt like a library and art museum had been destroyed. I can no longer experience the stories and art that they contained, I can only read about them second hand.
I played the game with my Daughter, and she continually asks me when we might be able to play again. It was something we shared and something I would like to share with my son. It is a family activity, and something I hope to do again with them.
Google's mission statement has been "to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." This is a chunk of information that is no longer accessible in its original format. Google would be my hero if they brought it back.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
Wow, I almost want to use this verbatim since I also enjoyed the daddy/daughter bonding time over the game.
You at least gave me a place to start - I mean, I started a letter and didn't like it, so I'm glad I read this post.
Thank you for the inspiration. Looks fine to me (two cents in).
I feel like this would be something better to lead with:

RE: CITY OF HEROES MMORPG
Dear Mr. Patel,
I understand you are recently in receipt of a "pitch" with the intent of introducing to your company, Google, to explore the possibility of purchasing the City of Heroes (COH) game from NC Soft. NC Soft sunsetted the game this past November.
The game had a modest, yet loyal community, of which I was a part. I subscribed to the game uninterrupted for over eight years, pretty much the entire life of the game. I know there are many others in similar situations; even those owning multiple accounts. It was also my understanding that the game was financially in good shape, although I admit to coming about this information from second hand sources.
COH may or may not be a good fit for Google, but I humbly ask that you give the matter some serious consideration. We "COHers" miss our game, our virtual home that was pulled out from under us. We'd love to be able to fly the skies of COH again in the future.
Join us, Mr. Patel. I've enclosed a hero starter kit and encourage you to use it as you see fit to fight crime and protect the innocent. See you in the skies of Paragon City!
Kindest regards,
**************
I've included an eye mask and party wig (obtained at the local dollar store for under five bucks), and attached labeling stating, "Unofficial City of Heroes Starter Kit". I thought a little humor might help the cause.
Okay, you guys write better, shorter letters than I do. In the For What It's Worth category here is my letter (printed yesterday but going in today's mail)
Dear Mr. Patel,
By now I feel certain you'll have received letters and/or postcards from dedicated fans of City of Heroes. I read on our fan network that you requested and received the marketing "pitch" about how and why it would be so great if Google were to acquire City of Heroes from the current property owner, NCSoft. Honestly, I had intended to write my letter of support for this two weeks ago, but you know how life gets busy.
What I would like you to know is that in a plethora of online games City of Heroes attracted and retained a dedicated following. While all such games can rightly claim uniqueness, City of Heroes is uniquely wonderful in ways likely outlined in the "pitch" - unmatched character or avatar appearance creation, humor balanced with more serious themes, a conscientious adherence to the comic book superhero genre, which has a broad appeal with men and women of at least three different generations from a wide range of nations, not merely the United States.
City of Heroes is very enjoyable for solo play but it really shines when players team up! This fostered a community of gamers willing and even eager to assist one another. To casually buffing one another in passing, to answering the call when a player cried for help, I have never seen an MMORPG with a more helpful community. Additionally, due to its broad range, City of Heroes appealed to girls and women as well as boys and men. I was member of two very active Super Groups (comparable to World of Warcraft's "guilds"); in these we had middle aged players, such as myself, as well as those even older, 60's and 70's. Naturally City of Heroes also appealed to the young; thus it was not uncommon for me to team with parents, children, and grandparents. Some used game play as a means for keeping in touch with extended family; e.g., aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as close friends. Service women and men also played and used City of Heroes as a recreational way to keep in touch with families and participate in doing something heroic and benign together.
No doubt, you and Google will have to do your own analysis as to whether acquiring City of Heroes is feasible and desirable, though naturally I hope so. Unless I am very much mistaken, I would expect my single letter to represent approximately forty to fifty former City of Heroes players each of whom would jump at the chance to play again. I know this because many of us maintain contact and friendship despite no longer having our MMORGP; and while many went shopping for the new game experience that would be comparable, even now, months after game closure by NCSoft, friends and fans attest that City of Heroes was so good and unique that other games do not fare well in comparison.
Please contact me if I can answer any questions you or others at Google might have regarding this remarkable property. Wishing you and your colleagues a very fine day.
Sincerely,
I went for the short but sweet option... I uploaded a screenshot of Atlas Park to Zazzle, had some postcards made. Then I wrote on the back, "Wish we were all here! (please) #SAVECOH" and sent it.
I like your words, too.
Thanks! And way Nifty re: the Atlas Park "Wish We Were Here" postcards! 8)
My personal fave (tho he didn't send it worded this way) was Hyperstrike's "Plz gimmeh CoH or elz!" (which makes me laugh even now just reading that!) ;D Hyperstrike's entire comment can be seen here: http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php/topic,8519.msg119904.html#msg119904
