Title: Mayor of Paragon city
Post by: Randomvector on May 17, 2013, 01:57:00 PM
Did the Mayor ever show up in any missions? I can't seem to remember him if he did.

Just wondering cause apparently my Mayor is a crackhead, wondering what scandals the mayor of Paragon would get into?

Secretly hitting up Dyne?

Probably.

Wouldn't be surprised if through the mayor office is how the Dyne got into the city in the first place

Nemesis introduced it, through the Family, to the Trolls, to induce Dr. Webb (or someone, anyone) to unlock the multi-verse.

I don't recall the mayor showing up anywhere (he/she was probably an automaton anyway), but members of the city council showed up in the Penelope Yin TF as non-escort hostages.

For those snickering at this obvious joke, it actually happens to be canon.

The only mentions I remember of Mayor Morales were in the Paragon Times up until he had some caption text in the Brass Tuesday (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Mission:Brass_Tuesday_%28Hero%29_-_Part_One:_Plots_Within_Plots) mission.  He never actually made a physical appearance in the game.

The closest we ever got to the mayor was the City Coordinator. you all remember her, she was the elegant lady standing in the city hall rotunda all of those years.

At least Mayor Morales didn't suffer the indignity that Spanky Rabinowitz did -- having a plaque erected on Talos Island describing him being born on that street... more than seventy years before Talos Island itself, much less the street, existed:

(Researcher, monument 2, on Talos Island east of the Corinth marker: "Mayor 'Spanky' Rabinowitz was born on this very street, in 1878 to Aaron and Maria Rabinowitz. Those who knew the mayor well say that he often returned to this area when troubled, to walk the streets he grew up on and contemplate the city's future.")

Yeah, Spanky had some issues.

Or it could be that Spanky really was born there, and he was actually a well-disguised Coralax who fooled everyone for decades...

Either that, or Spanky was a 14th level (or higher) Politician, who had discovered Ouroboros!   ;D

Drat, I wish I'd known about Morales before I went to the trouble of totally inventing Mayor Judith Bizon for my sister's stories.  http://hero.thefannish.org/images/Turnarounds/Mayorbizon.jpg (http://hero.thefannish.org/images/Turnarounds/Mayorbizon.jpg)

Just that name sounds like I could have had some fun coming up with stuff about him. I should have played the Pandora's box missions before it was too late. Regrets, I've had a few.

...off to go read the wiki.

On Pinnacle, the Mayor was Friggin' Taser.  Didn't anyone ever read his sig on the forums?

:)

The campaign manager must've had a lot of fun.

I bet his competition had a field day with that. All those "Don't Tase Me Bro!" buttons were dirt cheap after people forgot that other guy. :P
