Title: Wonder if the 3 1/2 year old ever played CoH?

I came across this cute little story, a father...no, I'll call him a super-daddy, who hacks donkey kong so his daughter can be the kidnapped princess, but unkidnapped and rescue Mario the plumber, instead of the normal, other-way-around.

Too bad this guy never played CoH with his daughter. (or did he? <shrug>)

Heh, considering that DK is King Kong-inspired (Giant gorilla takes a girl he likes to the top of a building), that technically means that DK's personality is a bit different now too.

Everyone loves Mario... Now DK admits it!

This was my exact first thought.  I was thinking perhaps Donkey Kong should be wearing a dress and be called Donkelda Kong or something. :)

Still, way way cool dad!

Maybe the big gorilla this time around is Kong's sister?  :)

That's actually a more impressive hack than just swapping Mario and Pauline (which itself requires all new animation for Pauline).  The NES version of the game doesn't have the conveyer belt stage, or the end-of-level animation of DK climbing to the next stage, but this hack has both.

Bravo on all levels.

Very belated edit to note that while the NES version didn't have the conveyer belt or the end-of-screen animation, the "25th anniversary" version released for the Wii store did.  Still, though, Bravo.

Actually Kranky Kong(original DK) considering DK2: Donkey Kong Jr.(Diddy Kong's partner) Kranky was locked up and current DK had to rescue him...
