CoX gave us so many options for creating characters that were really unique. Not just in their costumes and ATs, but all the way down to the colors of their individual powers and total freedom with their biographies. I remember one of the most fun parts of the game was just seeing what people could come up with. Now with the end of our beloved Paragon City (And the Rogue Isles) I really miss that. So I decided to ask. If you could fire up the game one more time and create another toon, what would it be like?
Personally, I'm still lamenting the premature loss of a Dual Pistols/Martial Combat Blaster. I planned to use the Malta Gunslinger and Knives of Artemis permanent transformation toggle powers to make a shapeshifting double agent who specialized in infiltration and sabotage. Toss in some +Stealth and plenty of IOs for Defense and let the covert antics begin! I even had binds set up that would toggle on the Gunslinger transformation for DP powers, KoA for Martial Combat and drop both toggles to show their actual costume when I used anything else. What a shame...
I'd make an Rad/DP 'fender.. Never did get a support character above level 20.
Fire/Dark/Soul dominator with Sorcery.
Katana/SR scrap. Never made it past lowbie status on one due to the end issues, but playing with those who did have the patients to do so made me wish I stuck with it.
Dude, my main was a BS/SR... soooo fun! Parry makes levelling easier, and when you get to SOs you start being untouchable.
I'd finally build a squishie for an all corr team, maybe an Ice/Cold.
I never re-rolled my defender for Water Blast, so I'd probably do that.
I'd make that MA/SR Stalker I'd intended to make.
...though she'd have to wait for me to have a time where I didnt want to play my Kheldian. I miss her so much ;-;
I would make another Blaster!
Bwasted Yankee
Energy/Fire/Sorcery
Color powers Red/White/Blue and just have fun!
I'd probably remake my kin/fire defender, but as a kin/energy or maybe kin/water if I could get the colours right. Fire never quite seemed right for her concept.
Hmmm, for some reason I have the urge of rolling a Fire/Kin Controller, an S/L softcapped one, heck, I even had to cook a build on Mid's... grrrr
*Shakes fist at NCSoft*
Savage Melee / Bio Armor brute - would be the best retcon for a character that started out as a Claws / Dark scrapper, then a Claws / Dark stalker, then a Claws / Willpower brute. Black Lioness was a genengineered mutant, where they added lion genetics to mutant DNA. The result was a human with feline attributes (claws, teeth, facial features. No cat ears or tail) and hyperactive immune system, enough to where you could see a cloud of cells floating around her.
Never liked the wolverine claws on her, tried what I could to minimize the visuals of them, either with the widows claws or the Vanguard claws with color set to black. Savage Melee was coming (dammit :'() and it would have been the final retcon for her.
If we're talking sets that were yet to be released, I was sitting on my reserved name for my main on Exalted so I could roll him as a Psi/Energy scrapper. I wanted it so badly. :(
If we're talking stuff that was already released but we just never got around to, I would have made that Dark/Time controller that I had my eye set on but just never created for some reason. Color Time dark purple and red and it matched Dark just perfectly. Toss in Soul Mastery for flavor and I'd have finally had the one darkness themed toon I'd ever enjoy playing.
A savage melee/invulnerability brute named Lynx. She would be of natural origin and have beast run. Her back story would be that she was lost in in the wild and raised by a family of Spanish lynx. I am so sad I will never get to play her.
Oh and I also was planning on buying the water blaster set as soon as I had the points.
I was going to make a water blaster/storm summoning blaster. She was going to be of magic origin. Her name was going to be some variation of Morgan Le Fey.
For real, I dont know what I would make. I still want to get my level 48 Nature Affinity to 50. Then maybe I would think about new.
I am currently making copies of all my favorite alts in the Icon app Codewalker made us. As I finish each costume, "Do you want to enter tutorial" and yes I dooooo, I feel the same surge of excitement that I always did when a new toon exits the starting gate.
Then I get the no server message, and what a downer it is.
I had a Nature Affinity Defender build in the works, was still deciding on a secondary though.

I feel bad for the guy on the walkie-talkie... "Hello? Hello? Is anyone there?" Nope. Sorry, pal. You're gonna have to call an ambulance for Blue Spectrum yourself.
I've always wanted an all PBAOE type character, but... best I could do was a spines/flame scrapper, and it would run out of end when it got too far up the level system, and only have 3 or 4 possible powers.
Beyond that... I dunno, I'd probably work on something that throws everything around like feathers in a pillow fight. Grav/Storm or something. :)
/Because I *WANT* others to hate me when I was playing Throwback The Mighty, that's why.
I want to remake my old Grav/Kin controller....
Savage Melee/Ice Armor tank. Give him big hairy hands, a wild mane of white hair, a mustache, and the most fabulous clothes I can find.
Yeti Mercury.
I'm a terrible human being.
Was there something called "Savage Melee" in the works? I guess I missed that bit of info.
I'd probably fiddle around in the character creator for several hours and end up getting nowhere either because I wasn't happy with the powerset choices, or I was coming up dry on character concept, or once I got past those two roadblocks I'd find that the name I really wanted to go with the concept and powersets was taken and I'd be back at square one. Eventually I'd settle on a Bio Armor/Stone Melee tanker, make it some variety of catgirl, and call it Krudmuphyn the Destoryer (the "the Destoryer" bit would have to be in the bio, of course, and the misspelling is intentional - it would read "bio removed by Krudmuphyn the Destoryer").
There was, references to it exist in the game files for I24 beta up to having power icons and everything. It was likely planned to be a store bought powerset between I24 and I25.
Nuclear Winter, a Radiation/Ice Blaster.

Would this, by any chance, be based on or inspired by the Nuclear Winter of Freedom Force (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4iEOz5J3t8)? (link goes to a gameplay video of the mission where he first makes his appearance)

Soviet spy Sukhov, after exposure to Energy X and a long nap in a liquid nitrogen cold-sleep, was transformed into the frozen, radioactive monstrosity known as Nuclear Winter. He quickly put the deep freeze on Patriot Park, using it as a distraction so that he and his frigid, freeze-ray toting troops could steal a nuclear weapon from a docked aircraft carrier. Fortunately, Minuteman and the Freedom Force both stopped him cold and disarmed the bomb before it blew the entire burg sky-high.
I'd make another Tank. Pick the primary and secondary sets that everyone said most "sucked" at the time. Those almost inevitably end up being the most fun, especially when people you're teaming with are incredulous that you're actually using those sets successfully.
But basically any tank. Just use my Wheel of Random Powerset Selection to match something up.
I'd combine my Tanks: Shield / Energy + Elec / SS = Shield / SS.
Foot Stomp (Punch Animation), Shield Charge, Foot Stomp (Punch Animation).

Never played Freedom Force. The idea was something along the lines of Mr Freeze reinvented as a radioactive Soviet Russian (of course empowered in the Chernobyl disaster).
..I'd call my character 'Red Solo Cup'.
Why?

Gah! By now we'd be seeing stuff for I-26. New powersets and so on. :: Sigh! ::
What would you have liked to see in new powers, new costumes and other things?
I really really wanted to finish my Spines/FA scrapper. Spines was my favorite scrapper set of all time and I never really got the chance to make one since I wasn't back in the game for long. The blazing aura/quills combo just sounded brutal (on endurance too).
I was going to make a blaster, come I24. Probably Ice and/or Fire. A sorceress.

Nuclear Winter, a Radiation/Ice Blaster.
That was my Rad/ice blaster's name. He was a tech at the Terra Volta reactor who, in a mishap between the heroes and the Freaks, he fell into the reactor core right when it was being hit with coolant.
The Wind Control powerset looked really interesting. And since I've always been a sucker for themes, I'd have made a Wind/Storm/Mu controller with a Sylph-spirit concept.
I'd make either a mind/psy dominator or a VEAT.
probably maybe an electric/electric tank
Illusion/Time controller.
I understand that this combo had a lot of potential and I always wanted to try it, but I would get horrendous (read: death-causing) lag every time I made one, even at low levels!
If I could make one that was lag-free....
