...you're looking at in-game screenies and then you forget you're ~looking~ at a screenie, and you "w" to go forward, or you try to scroll down on an open window - like someone's badge sheet maybe.
And you DONT go forward, nor can you interact with the game because YOU ARE NOT IN THERE.
I need to quit messing around with my screenies I guess, I'm trying to get them filed right prior to burning them on a disk. But every time I do this, its a bummer all over again.
I typically try to scroll my mouse wheel like it'll zoom me out since the vast majority of ya'll seem to play a lot closer in than I'm used to. Then I catch myself.
I attempt to zoom out with many, many screenshots. Even games I've never even played before.
I don't typically save screenshots, much less pore over them so longingly that I get caught up in a senior moment. ;)

Get off my lawn...
Screen shots? No. While working on demos (which I'm no where near up to full speed with) yes.
No, but the urge to start the game is there. :-\
This happens to me when I watch the videos I created with FRAPS. They are so close to the real thing that I have often found myself trying to take control with the keyboard or mouse.
Yes. Same with demorecords. Same to a lesser extent with YouTube game videos.

I don't try to move per se but I have caught myself trying to pan the camera or zoom out.
Even before the game shut down I caught myself looking at other people's you tube vids and trying to hit the inspirations for them....
pathetic, I know.
To the OP: Yep. Zooming and panning out too, like Father said. Heck, sometimes, if I'm in a HD video of CoH, I might try it too... get a little caught up in the moment, dontchaknow. :p
I try to right click to turn them all the time....:(
no.

Yup.
I do this quite often, actually, and for a whole number of games. Extra Credits call it "kinaesthetic projection" - the ability to perceive tools or interfaces are parts of our body such that we don't think about the mechanics of how something is done, but rather about what we want to do. Once I'm comfortable enough with a control scheme, I'll often find myself trying to apply it to static images because I'm simply reacting to the visual stimulus without thinking about the situation.
I'm surprised more people don't :)
I actually did this looking at a build screen, lol. I went to mouse over and look at set bonuses and then I was like "d'oh!"

Heh, I seriously was fixing to click the '2' try of your Enhancements to see what else you had, because my mouse pointer turned into a hand... DANGIT. :D
/really.
//That looks very nice, btw... lots of sets. Bet that was fun...
///Oh, now, I'm sad... :( Sigh...
It was pretty fun, yeah... Definitely my favorite character. Mandatory self plug! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OYgJTw6UaFk)
I've also caught myself trying to use my bind for displaying the frame rate while watching high quality full screen videos.
I find myself doing all of these--trying to pan around screenshots, reaching for my attacks while watching a demo, etc. But worst of all, for every night of the first two weeks after the game closed I dreamed I was back in game, living on borrowed time, and panic-stricken because I just KNEW I wasn't demo recording...
;^; I just tried to rotate the camera in a screenshot...
I actually had to change my wallpaper on my desktop, because it was a screeny I had taken where I had forgotten to minimize all the toolbars and windows beforehand.
Yes, of course. Try to turn, or run, or zoom. All of the above.
I try to click other people's characters so I can check their names or read their bios. :-\
