Title: Did anyone save the world's longest but best thread? You know, the costume one
Post by: MisterMagpie on December 12, 2012, 08:01:04 AM
I need to stop putting my entire question in the subject line,

Did anyone save the thread on the coh forum about 'show your best costumes'?

I was halfway through saving my favourite pictures when... well, you know what they did to the forum.

Your avatar is one of the more inspired costumes I've seen.  ;)

I can't take credit for it, unfortunately. Some other wonderful person drew it, but I don't know their name.

Thank you bear!  8)

Ahem, and since I'm in a Buffyverse mood...

The line "Thank you Bear" was used, verbatum, in the 5th season of Angel in the episode "Soul Purpose"

Also, this exchange of dialogue from the 4th season Buffy episode, "Pangs"...

Spike: "A bear! You made a bear!"
Buffy: "I didn't mean to!"
Spike: "Undo it! Undo it!

Okay, I'll stop now :D

Here's a couple more. I think these took over when Jay Doherty left the studio. I wasn't on the forums much so I may have missed some better threads with ideas:

All Things Character Art (http://www.dropbox.com/s/8ptvv66b9ca113s/all_things_character_art.zip) (37.4 MB)

All Things Art - FX Edition (http://www.dropbox.com/s/9gzo5py0nnmkdef/all_things_art_fx-edition.zip) (27.2 MB)

I was asking for (since BETA) a better mustache for my character concept. Something thicker like in the "Beard Full" geometry, but with curl to it, unlike the very flat, security-services/rent-a-cop, "Mustache." Also not like the unserious pirate/three musketeers "Handlebar":

Ugh, that reminds me of this:

In lieu of repurposing the existing geometries, this was my proposal. My "Thick Mustache" was the closest, but I'd take any of the three:

The steampunk set had one that was the closest in the end I think, but still a bit limp on the curl.

I thought they might be trying to avoid conjuring up the German Kaisers (hey it wasn't the Hitler mustache >:(  ) but in the end they had other things to do. Never did find a clean picture of Jay to Photoshop a real mustache on him to show how sexy he was with it. ;)

The Diabeetus! :D

Yes, and Richard Riehle (http://www.google.com/search?q=richard+riehle&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&biw=1290&bih=1033&sei=BsrPUOHDBfLh0wH7vIDYBg) too, among others. I thought it had great potential.

Or John Bolton (http://www.google.com/search?q=john+bolton&hl=en&tbo=d&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&biw=1290&bih=1033) whose stache is kinda the Chuck Norris of international relations.
