I don't want to draw this out. I just want to thank you all for accepting me into your community. Many of you have extended some very kind words through many different mediums and I appreciate all of them, even if I can't always respond.
If any of you ever play Diablo III, add me as hitstreak#1270 or on League of Legends as hitstreak on the US servers. You guys already know I'm on twitter as @hitstreak.
I'll keep my eye on this thread but I probably won't be posting on here otherwise. I'll just leave it at this: this community was amazing. I was spoiled by Paragon Studios as a great workplace and also spoiled by all of you.
It was a helluva ride.
Thanks,
Jessie

It's easy to be supportive and passionate when you have something worth supporting, and worth being passionate about.
Thanks for all you did - and even more so after August 30. I appreciate it can't have been an easy ride for you, but you did great.
Thank you and the entire development team and related staff for City of Heroes. Thank you for making our last night in Atlas Park memorable. I was torn between watching TwitchTV and staying in-game with my friends (my old computer doesn't do well running side applications while logged into CoH even with reduced graphic settings), but elected to stay in-game and watch TwitchTV afterwards.
It was cheering for Matt Miller to hop onto his avatar and for Positron himself to join us in AP2 for a while. I hope other devs were making the rounds to hangout with fans on all the servers. I laughed with pleasure at seeing the announcement on my global chat tab, "Positron has been unsilenced" on Justice United. I'm glad he joined joined our primary channel (with all due respect for Justice For All channel.)
Thank you again!! 8)
Thanks for everything Jessie!
You're funny, Hit. You do realize you were the face of the City after the announcement? You were there for us when no one else could. I realize we had Pebble and the others, but ingame at least we mostly got to share witb you. You are welcome anywhere we are.

And I'll just say, thank you for everything, and we're not done yet.

Thank you so much for sticking by us through thick and thin (even when there were trolls, lol)! We love you, and heaven help us if someone is able to buy and resurrect CoH, we hope you are once again by our sides! Best of luck in all you do, you deserve good things!
Jessie, thank you. Having been in a similar position of being one of the last people in an organization, I do know how emotionally trying that can be, on top of losing something you are so passionate about. Thank you for sticking it out and supporting us through all of this. Best of luck in whatever you choose to do.

One of us. One of us.
Thanks Hit Streak! I will forever treasure the time we hung out in Pocket D after the Captain Mako event. I was on Guardian of the Pit on Champion server at the time. Sadly I do not have a screenshot of that moment. : / Fraps deserted me.
Thanks for giving us things to fight for the last hour of the games existance and for being the guy that kept the lights on. 8)
Thank you so much for that last livestream with all the devs, Jessie. It's the only thing that let me participate in the last hours of the game - I wouldn't have been able to bear it otherwise. You did so much to try and make those last hours fun and memorable.
/salute
Hit Streak! ;D
Thanks for all you did, and the entire Paragon Studios team as well.
It was the best gaming experience of my life.

Very much this.
/salute.
Thank you. Hope to see you around.
I dream of the day that I get to play another game that is run by such an amazing team of devs and community relations on anywhere near the level that you guys were. Seriously. You in particular really stuck it out with us through thick and thin. Thank you so much.
Thank YOU, Hit Streak!!
The entire relationship between Paragon Studios and customers was a circular experience of awesome.
The community was awesome because Paragon Studios was awesome... and so it fed back, indefinitely between us all.
Thanks for all you did during that long stretch of aftermath. It may have been somewhat of a thankless job, but we'll keep on thanking you until that's no longer true! ;)
I'm on twitter as well... @PaulDamonThomas
One of these days, I'll get more active with twitter...
A few weeks back, I logged in one Friday morning and noticed AP33 was gone. I realized that the server maintenance must have done away with it, and this made me rather sad.
And not 5 minutes later, the first red-name I'd seen in forever popped-up on-screen. Hit-Streak arrived, said his greetings, restored AP33, and announced that he would bestow the "Paragon Supporter" title to those who came to the AP33 city-hall stairs.
I super-leaped my way across the cityscape, took the tram to AP33, super-leaped to the stairs, and within a few moments I was recognized as a Paragon Supporter.
It may not seem like much (possibly because it was something you had already been doing for a few weeks), but you made me smile that morning, Hit_Streak, and I won't soon forget it. Welcome! :)
Jessie / hit_streak,
Thank you. I do not envy the role you had to play the last couple of months. I honestly have a hard time imagining anyone doing it, not in the sense that it seems impossible, but that I don't think I can get my head around the mental and emotional state it must have created.
Thank you for running the TwitchTV streams. That in particular struck me as above and beyond the call of duty. Thank you for updating the Facebook and Twitter feeds, when there were people posting replies to the effect that they didn't see the point. Thank you for trying to keep the CoH forums sane at a time when they had their biggest reasons ever to descend into chaos. And thank you for the in-game things you did, especially on the 30th, to let people literally go out fighting.
I wish all the above had not been necessary. I'm glad you were there when it was.
Thanks Jessie for all that you did after August 30th, especially for the Coffee Talks those last few weeks. You didn't have to continue with those, and I got the feeling that you really didn't want to, but you did it anyway - for us.
And an extra thanks on top of that for the final live stream. My friends and I listened to you while fighting bad guys on the streets of Paragon City during those final moments.
May your Mez Protection toggle never drop.

One of us. One of us.
Part of the ship, part of the crew...part of the ship, part of the crew!
Streak, you did right by us. And we remember that. You were doing the best job you could in a less than optimal situation and making it look classy.
Talk about on the job training huh?
Don't be a stranger. Feel free to pop in from time to time and talk about whatever. Sports, games, Mrs. Hit Streak... the door is always open.
... and if you need us to write our replies in a larger font because you forgot your glasses again, we can arrange that..
I never personally interacted with you, hitstreak, but I've heard about everything you did for the community. Believe me when I say that you did right by a whole slew of people you owed very little to, and we will be eternally grateful. You treated us with dignity and respect when we, as a community, were not shown much of either, and that sort of thing matters.
If I ever run into you over in Diablo, I'll throw some loot or a gem or five at you. You deserve so much more, but it's hard to do more than that without violating parole, and probably getting slapped with another restraining order. =P
Jessie, you rock man. You might've had to stay there, but you didn't have to do all you did, and you didn't have to do it so well. You could've coasted, nobody would've blamed you. But you stepped up instead. So thank you right back, and good luck in whatever you do next :)
It can't have been easy for your these last few months.
Thanks for doing a hard job well!
You guys are going to make me cry again.
I also wish to say "Much Obliged, Sir.", but I don't think anyone else did yet, so I obviously can't also say that.
I will therefore start the trend myself:
Much Obliged, Sir.
And add: You put up with a lot the last three months, and I for one salute you, Pebble, Zwill, and all the rest of you guys who kept the show running when NCSoft laid down the ultimate BanHammer on the Studio. It could not have been easy. Thank you, and thank the rest for me and us'ns.
Not sure I can say anything quite so eloquently as others already have, but thank you.
Thank you.
You're welcome. Very welcome.
Thank you for holding on for us, too, for all that time. I can't imagine how difficult it may have been for the devs manning the sunset procedure, having to stay while knowing that "The End" was coming.
Thank you, Hitstreak. And you're welcome.
In spite of the bumpy road at the end, you kept your seat belt fastened and didn't get pitched out of the car. That's not a bad thing at all.
Thanks for putting up with us till the end. I hope you land on your feet at another company that will fully appreciate your skills.
AAAAAHHHH a GHOST ! *picks up anti-ghost rifle temp power*
Glad to have you back here Hit Streak. So very glad.

Thank you again, Hitstreak. It took a lot of constitution and love to put in what you did these last months. I hope we'll meet in Paragon again, someday.

I said it on twitter and I'll say it here. The last words I ever read in CoH were yours - thank you for making them so heartfelt.

Yeah, but they're good tears, a testament to the Awesome in the development team and the community that made City of Heroes what it was. Even with CoH sunset, the Awesome lives on.

To paraphrase Firefly, they can't take the sky from us.
Indeed.
Take my love,
Take my land,
Take me where I cannot stand.
I don't care, I'm still free.
You can't take the sky from me.
Take me out to the black,
Tell 'em I ain't comin' back.
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can't take the sky from me.
There's no place I can be,
Since I found serenity.
But you can't take the sky from me.
Browncoat? ME? Pft, never. What's a browncoat? ;)
We're fighting in our own little Serenity Valley. :3
thank you and the entire CoH staff for being there and giving us wonderful memories to remember to look back on.
live long and prosper
*applause*
