Well i made it i was there for the final few minutes of COH. It was an emotional time as everybody said their last goodbyes and the last few minutes ticked off. The evil CO finally managed to do what many evil scientists tried to do and Paragon city was destroyed.
Finally at 08:03 GMT the message came i had been disconnected it was over.
A very sad time
I took a screen shot of us all my alt is Galaxia.

Who else made the last few minutes
Right around 3:18 AM EST, Beta server shut down. I was there, standing under the statue of Lord Recluse in Grandville, holding my torch with a couple others.
We were the last to go.
I was in Atlas Park with hordes of others on Justice. Holding a torch and messaging my global's saying my goodbyes. The anger with NcFail, the closeness we all shared. I'll never ever forget it.
NO. Not destroyed. Anything can be remade.
Paragon is still out there, this is To Be Continued...
I was in AP3 on Pinnacle. I was facing to the East.
Why?
Because from Atlas Park, East is toward the Hollows- the place where all my bluesiders went through...a rite of passage. It was a final glance toward that horizon...for now.
And also because this was the 'sunsetting' of CoH, I had my back to the West, I had my back to the sunset.
Forever.
I was on Justice server on my first blaster to reach 50 and my old "main" in AP 2. (Heroette insisted we be on AP2, which was fine.)
Longer reply:
I was on Justice, attempting to follow and respond to chat from 3 global channels, teamed with an SGmate from Victory who made a new character so as to be on the same server and zone with me before the lights went out. (He's a newer player.) Earlier today, I backed up approximately 20 of 100 characters with Titan's Sentinel+ extractor, then joined a PickUpGroup Manticore TF that took 2 hours because the team lead Tank Level 33 ran it at +3 x4, not for challenge but hoping he and teammates would level up faster. (Yipes, but there's easier, faster ways to do that, but we saw it thru and it was still fun.) Followed that with a teamup with one of my oldest friends who insists on teaming up only with what she calls "fun, nice people", meaning +0 x1 difficulty with plenty of time to chat and joke as we played rather than fighting for our lives. (Ah! Gaming to relax.) That team concluded with the Frostfire arc via Ouroboros Flashback at my request, since I really wanted to do it again and have our characters sliding all over the ice once more. I ate dinner at my computer in chats saying hello and goodbye as SGmates not on since the Sunset Announcement logged in. I wasn't in the mood for doing missions or trials at that point; I'd been doing marathon gaming as best I could over the past two weeks; gotten characters badges, accolades (Thank you to the player who had Anti-Matter as a "farm") and whatever levels they were going to get; had made certain SG bases were open in case inactives did log in (many did), alted to Infinity to mail some crafted IO's to guy I just met so he could trick out his Ele blaster in style for the last hours while he read his three year-old son a bedtime sorry; had to transfer a toon to Defiant (I have plenty of loveable but neglected lowbies) 'cause oops! he'd taken some of the crafted IOs from his mailbox on to the 3rd level Brute he plays with his son (he says the son gets to tell him which baddie to fight next.) I'd had my dance in avatar with Heroette that I envisioned would be at Pocket D but she preferred we dance under Atlas in AP 2 so we did. (Wished we could waltz, but somehow she managed to get us doing synchonized Pop Dance together and it looked really cool!) The Not a Contest, No Prize but a Smile CC didn't happen (bummer) or rather was forming when the Rularuu AV's appeared. (Yipes!) After battling and several defeats (and three disconnections) I then stood on the steps of AP City Hall emoting /em holdtorch, chatting with said Victory SGmate et al, and watched the humongous Avatar of Hamidon appear, and felt sorry for the heroes going to battle it. (Having the non-avatar Hami show up in AP was almost amusing since we'd done a Hami Raid on Justice just the night before, and Hami in AP with no Mitos didn't last long.) I was replying in chat to my friend when I got the gray popup Fatal Error message. (Sorry, I just reviewed my screenshots and they aren't very good.)

Paragon is still out there
Actually, it's not - it's even better - it's still
in there - all the game files are still no your computer - do
not delete them.
Last shot I got in RWZ 2 on Guardian. We made it in just under wire, and were kicked from the server right around the time we'd be loading back in at the Point du Hoc respawn.

I was here...

And then I was here...
But with just a minute left, I logged back in and I was here when it shut down:

The sad part is that a lot of people weren't able to get back onto Virtue to be there when it ended... as you can see from the screenshot.
"This game let us fly. So I'll fly. Right until the end."
I kept my promise. Miss Megajoule was in the air when it happened, flying through the skies over Atlas Park (Virtue).

First I hung out with a three-team league of some of my best friends from the game, beating some Rikti face in on our Pentacle Coalition characters from Infinity redside, winning back Cap au Diable one final time. I can't even see half the people that were present for this in all the chaos. Perfect.

Then I went to Justice, my second home, with Aggelakis, my main and favorite character. I hung out on the steps for a while, Matt Miller floating out front on his Positron signature character. (I thanked him for his hard work, leadership, and creativity, and apologized for the way the community repeatedly treated him even though he wasn't at fault for probably half the shit people blamed him for.)
Then I went with seven of my friends from the first picture to Firebase Zulu. We started the last, and longest, Dr. Quaterfield. I ;grief'd and asked Dr. Quaterfield why the world was going dark even when there were still threats to fight.
He didn't have an answer. The world went dark too fast.

I then spent the next couple hours curled in a ball, crying too hard to talk on Ventrilo with most of the people from the first image.
I was there...
As ILLYRIA, I was on Virtue, doing one last sweep of Atlas, until a final server crash with about 10 minutes to spare before shutdown.
And so, as Avatar of RA, I logged into Pinnacle for the game's final moments, and one final group-buff upon the stairs:

And then, it all came to an end:

Was there, Virtue, Pocket D, RPing the night away as I knew I would be ...
Though, that was cut short during the 2am series of DCs ... I went to bed early after that :(
My final screenshot before I had to leave. I was on Beta.

I was on Virtue until the crash. Then logged on to my first hero from eight years ago on Protector. Raised my torch with fellow heroes on the city hall steps, then walked to the point I started. At the steps leading up to Ms. Liberty. Stood there until the final mapserver.
