Title: December 3, 2012: City of Heroes Solidarity Day
Post by: Manga on November 29, 2012, 09:24:57 PM
I propose that December 3, 2012 (Why Dec 3rd?  First weekday after the shutdown!) become an instant City of Heroes Solidarity Day:

- Make sure nobody forgets CoH two days after its shutdown!

- If you work for NCSoft, consider calling in sick that day.  Yes, I am serious about that.  If you know someone who works for NCSoft, make sure as many of them as possible know about this option.  Don't say anything to get yourself fired when you do it!  Just quietly call in sick Monday morning.  The flu is going around, you know.

- If for some reason you planned to buy NCSoft stock (I don't know why you would), wait until December 4th.  If you plan to SELL NCSoft stock, Monday December 3rd is the perfect day!

- I know realistically some of you may want to try out other NCSoft titles.  All I ask is don't play them or order them on Monday, December 3rd.

- If you're due for subscription payment to NCSoft on December 3rd, don't pay it until the 4th.

- If you are ordering merchandise for any NCSoft games or from NCSoft, don't order it until the 4th.

- If you have an NCSoft free trial, don't redeem it until December 4th.  It's not going to be easy, because they'll probably give some of us one as a consolation prize for CoH shutting down, but we can be stronger than that!

NOTE to Mods and TonyV:  If NCSoft asks you to remove this post, go ahead...after December 3rd.  :)

Any questions/comments ideas, feel free to reply.

P.S. (edit) I'll make one exception - if Monday is the day NCSoft negotiates with Disney.

I'm not so much down for this, but I will not be doing any online activities on Saturday. I may fire up the old Windows 95 laptop for some original X-Com or Civ2, but no MMORPGs, no social media, not even a MUD.

I can comply with that.   NCSoft gets no more of my money without some very serious explaining.    If someone with more artistic skills then me were to make a image icon crystalizing this, I would also post it on Facebook on the third.   I know a blogger who has a few readers I might be able to pester to post it too.

Fine with me, I want nothing to do with NCSoft anyway.

Pretty much what Emu said, I wasn't going to do any of those things anytime soon anyway, if ever.

December 3rd I'll be too busy looking for a 2nd job to bother with NCSoft. >.>

Won't be a problem for me either, I'm currently giving my money to Blizzard instead. =P

Yeah, I'm kind of on board with this simply by default.  I've already told (through letters) NC Soft that they will never get a single cent from me again until CoH is back - however that may come about.  That's a promise I won't have any trouble keeping.

Somehow I doubt Tony would be inclined to do any favors for NCSoft at this point.
