Wait. The Halloween event, which is one of the big events of the year that a lot of us *really* look forward to, instead of being a couple weeks in duration, is *three* days this time.
And you can't log into the Beta server to play i24 with the Halloween Event till monday.
After the Halloween event is over.
Wow. Just wow.
Way to go on those big events for sunsetting the game NCSoft.

Think there's any chance we can get them to extend the Event because of the Beta server downtime?

I don't think holiday events are being run on Beta... I know Double XP wasn't. Which kinda blows for badge collectors running New & Improved Blasters, characters with Bio Armor, Martial Combat/Assault, or Sorcery, or characters transferred over from Live that can finally be "done right" with Pool & Travel Power Customization. Then again, what part of this whole post-8/31 situation doesn't blow?
Disappointing. I only just discovered CoH in August of this year. Fell in love
with it immediately. Played f2p for a few weeks and was
considering subscription when the bomb dropped.
Beta server is back up, but the Halloween event isn't running. Looks like summer blockbuster is still active there.

If you have a F2P account, you can still get onto Beta. It's open to anyone with an an account registered prior to their closure of the account system, no matter what status they are (free, prem, VIP, doesn't matter).
I'm kinda in the same boat as you. Beta will allow you to experience all of the game save Incarnate content (and you can still experience a little of that, in that you can craft and slot Incarnate powers, and obtain Incarnate XP by converting Threads.) You won't be able to benefit from Incarnate powers, or participate in trials or Incarnate story arcs, though.
Still though, all the powersets and purchaseable costume options are available in the Paragon Market for zero points, as are numerous levelling aids. Beta is in I24 as well, meaning you can benefit from the revamped power pools and the new Sorcery power pool, as well as new arcs and mission content both hero and villainside.

I plan on playing the heck out of CoH, seeing as I've only a little over a month
left to play (barring total victory in the battle to save CoH of course).
