One thing I love about the CoX community is our artists. This game encourages so many to be creative and I think the art people have made over the years is extremely top notch. So if the folks who have some skill, seeing as I have none, are up for it I suggest the following idea...
Create some WWII inspired superhero posters that instead showcast CoX characters.
I'm talking modeling some pictures off of "Rosie the Riveter," "A Nice Cup of Freedom," and good old "Uncle Sam." If you share them here, member can then share them on Facebook and Twitter and they are sure to go viral. If it's one thing people love to do on Facebook, its share cool pictures and would prove to be a great way of getting the "Save our City of Heroes" message out.
The Future is NEVER Set in Stone,
Graphite
Here is an example of what I was talking about. A friend of my shared this with me a few days ago.

Dang, that would be a GREAT flyer for NY ComicCon
For those more artistically inclined, here is a great source of vintage advertisements and propaganda ads, broken up by decade.

Woody over at GU comics created this great WWII style poster that you guys are looking for a few weeks ago.

Great - we need one for Lord Recluse, too. You can't rule over a blank disk!
Iconic CoH toons would work best for this, which is a darn shame, because I have a character who participated in WWII.
Still, this is a fantastic idea and I hope you lot run with it!
Here are some posters I found to get the creative juices flowing.

I like the idea of using the first poster, or one like it, at NY Comicon. However, does anyone know the artist so we can ask permission to do so?
That would be Moonfyire.

Those Navy ones really put on a gun show!
I'd love to see a version of the second to last poster up there with flying supers in place of the airplanes.

Oh yeah. Turn it into a nice riff on the classic Superman pose?

My inner history major is pleased. My inner artist is even more pleased. Soon as the LSAT is over (Saturday) I'll see what I can come up with. If anyone is willing to take sketches and add color/a professional touch, please let me know!!

Turns out my crappy Mustek scanner finally went belly up, though... I'll post the pencils tomorrow after I get to a copy shop.
Here we go. Click to biggen it up.
Now to ink it up & toss some color on it. Should be ready this week.
Yeah, I know States didn't wear that costume in the Golden Age... it's all, like, symbolical and stuff, man.

Nice! I can't wait to see the inked and colored version. :)
That is some amazing pencil work @.@

Gotta say, CC, that's an awesome drawing! I think, aside from the hat, which is not really all that specific, anyway, it's pretty period-neutral. I like the defiance it evokes, especially.
Drake, you should continue. No one is going to be a harsher critic than you are, and the more we have the better. I know that I can't do that, but I'm hoping to find something other than art for which I have a contributable talent. :)
