Title: CoX officially not on NCSoft
Post by: Moonfyire101 on September 20, 2012, 11:23:28 AM
They have taken City of Heroes off the NCSoft website. The CoX website remains but the original home page has also been removed. No more merch and no mention of City of Heroes. When i first saw this it it felt like they erased it from time. It stung.

Lets hope Paragons negotiations are going well. I want to see the game continue even if NCSoft has purged it from their tiny world.

Anyone have an update from Paragon?

Not trying to bring anyone down, we have to think positve and hope for a new home for CoX. I guess keep writing letters to potential investors and potential hosts for the game. Good luck Paragon, i pray you get the rights to the game you poored your souls into for so many years.

Don't worry too much about this. This was expected.

Again - this is neither good news or bad news.

If they were closing the game and not selling it, they would do this.

And if they are divesting themselves of the game and in negotiations with a buyer or to let the IP/Code go free they would STILL be doing this!

Because if they were selling/transferring the IP rights etc, they would have to cleanse their webspace of anything that shows that the game is part of their stable. It's a liability issue either way.

So remember - it's not good or bad news. It just IS.

It's been gone for several days, ever since they added Blade and Soul to their site I suspect =/

Interestingly, the complaint for the first week, more on the official forum than here, was that all of that was still on the home page, and how that stung.  :)

I'm personally not getting discouraged until VV or someone from Paragon says the end is nigh.

Waking up and seeing that I'd been "forceably eject from the server" again gave me a nice little panic to start the day.

CoH is actually still there on the NCsoft site - you just can't see it until you log into your master account and go to your CoH game account(s).

I'm taking this as a positive step.

Speaking of past shutdowns, I remember that the Auto Assault test server was still open after the shutdown. I think it stayed up for about a week. Went down with the official site. Crap, now i'm tearing up after thinking about it :(

I'm not too worried about this, mainly for the reasons that others have already given.

Until I cannot access the servers, the game is alive and I will continue to have hope.

Even if the servers go dark, I will continue to support and lobby for a restart under new management.

We still have more than two months for things to happen. Every day that goes by with the servers on is a positive sign.
