I know we are all pouring out efforts to save City of Heroes, but what are we doing for our local charities? I'm not one to speak since I am currently not helping one - but this has reminded me that I need to start being a hero a real life too. I believe in supporting local charities since big charities already get a ton of attention.
I am going to try to find the time and/or money to give back to my local community charities and I will share with you all my experiences (time allowing.)
Let's be real heroes too.
I think many people give (of their time and money) but may not necessarily broadcast/declare it. :)
There are so many heroes out there who give of themselves but keep it to themselves...
Been supporting a children's charity monthly here for years. So yes, I do actually put my money where my virtual mouth is :D
I've been doing what I can to support Hospital Heroes, 'Superman' touring the US visiting childrens hospitals. :)
Well I work to help people with developmental disabilities every day. Although I don't think about it that way. And others might do it to without noticing it. Like donating clothing to Salvation Army, or giving food to the food bank.
I work at one of The ARC thrift stores in Colorado.
Charity I do is :
Cancer walk for life, Walk for Alzheimers and support local Little league team
I've given months worth of time to my local food bank acting as go-for (I would go for this or go for that). I owe nothing, but I still give when I can.
