Title: "Show Unread Posts" results in empty list?
Post by: WanderingAries on October 19, 2011, 11:02:32 PM
It could be something to do with my using Safari on my G4 (since I'm waiting on my laptop replacement parts in the mail) and that's not the norm for me. The last couple days I've not been receiving anything in the list nomatter how much I click it even though I can see active threads in the main forum list. I'm not entirely familiar with the intricacies of Safari so it's possible that there's a setting I'm unaware of.

Having no issues with Show Unread Posts, as it's pretty much the only way I view these forums. I'm using FF3.6 (can't stand the new FF layout so I haven't upgraded).

I'm assuming you mean the 'Show Unread Posts' link in the corner that takes you to Recent Unread Topics. I'm not quite sure how that page determines last visit, but it's never seemed consistent to me. Sometimes works, sometimes doesn't.

I tend to use a bookmark to All Unread Topics (http://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?action=unread;all;start=0) instead.

There was a period of about 2 weeks where the "Show Unread Posts" Link failed me, however the "All Unread Topics" Link showed me everything.

With that, I agree with Supa Troll, always use the "All" Link.

silly Q, but beyond the links you've posted, where would I have known to find this "All Unread Topics" button? :-p

When you hit "Show Unread Posts", if it finds zero posts, it offers that link up as a suggestion to try. Hitting Show Unread Posts twice in a row is a good way to make that happen.
