Title: Issues with OGG Playback?
Post by: eabrace on January 16, 2010, 06:20:33 AM
Anyone else having issues when they try to open one of the OGG files stored on the wiki in their browser?

For example, when I open this (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/File:Deadly_Apocalypse.ogg), all I get in my browser is this (http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y38/eabrace/titan/OGGnotplaying.png).

Edit:  The above info pertains to opening in Firefox.

Ditto. Have updated all my media players with ogg-playing formats, so it's something with the wiki.

It works for me as an embed in Chrome 4.0.295.0 (dev channel).  IE 8.0.7600.16385 prompts me for a download and opens it in VLC.  Firefox's embed is showing the same as the image.

Ugh.  It's late or I would have noted "Firefox" in the original post.  *Edits post.*

I hadn't tried in Chrome (not installed on my laptop), but got the same behavior as Nicster in IE (except I opened it in Winamp).

Also should note that the computer is running Firefox 3.5.7

I just installed the Firefox 3.6 release candidate (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html) (cause I had been meaning to), and the file worked fine.  This appears to just be an issue with the current FF 3.5.7 Firefox OGG plugin.

FF 3.6 is now available as an update and ogg files are playing nicely in it.
