On the one hand, I thought Alice's identity was obvious; but on the other, I figured they would draw out the reveal.
Dunno how I feel about the show, yet.
Seemed like your standard CW opening. Not bad until they start going all Smallville (7.0? now). Really though the problem with doing a Batwoman series is that she doesn't have many villains and no good ones from the comics. Alice was the obvious choice but after that who knows.
I give it ... a solid C+ or B-? It was enjoyable for an origin story episode and I'm willing to give it the rest of the season before really judging it, but I like it more now then I I did Green Arrow at the end, so that's a plus.
Maybe a Bat I can finally enjoy.
I don't much recall what happened in the second episode, I just kept thinking Kate looks like a Peter Pan the whole time.
So we've got a batman the movie joker but not a batman returns penguin? ok then.
Not sure what you mean, but isn't Magpie pretty much Batwoman's Penguin?
No, Magpie's been a longtime Batman villain. I don't even recall her being in a Batwoman but then again I'm only caught up to 2017 and have a crap memory anyway.
The more we get of Kate's stepsister, the more I dislike her.
And an I-have-a-little-bit-of-facial-scarring-so-the-world-treats-me-like-a-monster villain. Joy.

Gotham Penguin maybe.
Seems a lot like it's a DC "Amalgam" universe.

If only. Then we might be watching DC-23 instead of Batwoman.
