Title: I doubt most of you are anime fans but
Post by: ryuplaneswalker on November 08, 2017, 02:18:45 PM
Since this place is a hero loving place I thought I would tell you guys about an Anime that started up a while back called My Hero Academia.

It is very super hero oriented, as it is a school dedicated to raising heroes and it is very good, I imagine many of the folks around here could always use more Hero stuff.

I watched... season 1 at least.  A while ago.  On Hulu.  It's a pretty good superhero story.  I wanted to see more of it, but I either ran out of episodes or episodes that were dubbed.

In some ways I liked One Punch Man better.  It's a bit more Superman satire rather than Avengers high school.

One Punch Man is legit too, The fights aren't as fun though, which is something of an unfair comparison since Caped Baldy's character development goes off the rails a bit if he isn't absurdly OP.

Edit : By the way.

Spoiler for Hidden:
All Might is going to go down in a way just as epic as Cyrus Breakneck Thompson, just calling that right now.

Just watched that one a month ago, atleast the first half of season one. It is very good. As for My Hero Academia it is on my list to get.

That one ended with far more story and character than I expected.

Much older, but if you're talking Super Hero Anime

-- Tiger and Bunny (I think it's on Netflix)

The hero organization idea is very similar to One Punch Man's

Veteran fading Super Hero Wild Tiger gets teamed up with a young hotshot new hero who just uses his real name "Barnaby"
and his outfit has fins on the sides of his helmet, so Tiger calls him "Bunny".

I watched the first episode of Assassination Classroom yesterday.  This seems to be delightfully insane.  :)

There is also Samurai Flammenco, it is a little old but once you get to the first twist of the series..it becomes great.

Dubbed version of season 2 is going to be available (in its entirety) tomorrow on Hulu.
