Title: Goodbye, Adam West
Post by: Super Firebug on June 10, 2017, 05:47:53 PM
Adam West (no need to tell anyone here who he was) died of leukemia Friday night at age 88.

His Batman and Yvonne Craig's Batgirl will forever patrol Gotham City.

And still the most influential version of Batman ever put on screen.

I can't argue with that. Even Affleck agrees.

Quote from:  Ben Affleck on TwitterAdam West exemplified heroism. Kind, funny and an all around great guy. Thank you for showing us all how it's done. @therealadamwest

True story.

Watching Mr. West, with myself as a kid at the time, carried all the weight and seriousness of being a hero even around the campiness of the show. With all the color and pageantry the show itself embodied, the straight-faced seriousness he took in his duty and sense of civic responsibility amidst all that was not missed by a lot of us young'uns. ;)

Cowls off to you, sir.
