This is the thread for discussion of new features and other changes to Paragon Chat.

Patch notes for version 1.0.12Update branch: Release
Release date: 17 Jan 2017
Badges
- New command: /set_title_name (also /settitlename) that accepts an internal badge name, such as Anniversary10 or AtlasParkExplorer.
- Yo dawg, we heard you like badges, so we added badges for your badges so you can earn badges while you're earning badges.
EventsPowers
- New power: Recall Friend. Somewhat experimental, but seems to be working in limited testing.
System
- Implement some new powers system features: Teammate target type, power confirmation prompts, and support for secondary targets including range handling.
Zones
- Resolve issue with zoning in to the revised Pocket D map sometimes taking longer than usual.
- Added a map marker to the door that leads to the Ski Chalet to make it easier to find for returning players.
- Increased local chat range in Pocket D by 50%.
LOURVE! (I dunno if anyone will get that reference.)
Too bad I still can't ski.
Do we still play FPARN here? 8)

OMG! Best news *ever*! Taxibots, Unite!
I can't believe this is a thing! I'm gonna try inviting some of my friends to experience the world that City of had to offer. ;D
So, started the race but the timer never stopped. Was that expected? No badge I'm guessing?
QuoteYo dawg, we heard you like badges, so we added badges for your badges so you can earn badges while you're earning badges.
Thanks!
How long did you give it? The expert (easy) course times out after 2 minutes, the advanced course times out after 3.
D'oh. I can confirm that the timer is not running out when it's supposed to. I had both of them going at once for a minute there. Expert finally stopped somewhere past ten minutes, and Advanced is still ticking away at over nine. Which is strange because they seemed normal before. I'm not sure what I did differently that might have affected them.
"Controlled Falling Practice." Hah!
Bah, the zone script was using a static variable to count ticks so that it didn't check the state too often, but the same function was ticking for both instances (each instance using separate data for each course). Because it checked every N ticks and N was divisible by two, in practice only one of the courses was running the cleanup of old races.
Fixed in bugfix release 1.0.12.2.

Best patch note ever :P
I do have two questions; Is there any plans to allow Warshades to use Shadow Step and whatever their version of Recall Friend is called? How difficult would that be now that Teleport and Recall Friend are both in Paragon Chat?
FYI: Internal Badge Names for the /set_title_name command is available on the Paragon Wiki under the page Badges known to work in Paragon Chat (https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Badges_known_to_work_in_Paragon_Chat). Total credit for the internal badge name contributions goes to Pengy. Seriously, applause.
That's all.
Nice Job Pengy, clap clap clap
Thanks for the update. I love every little increase and the ski runs - awesome :)
What a wonderful resource. Kudos, Tahquitz and Pengy!
You need to add an obvious download link to ParagonChatBootstrap.exe somewhere, people coming here from Reddit can't figure out how to actually get the program.
On top of it... and done.
Point them here (https://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?topic=12479.0), or use chat.cohtitan.com, the forums link will take them to Announcements by default.
I think I found what they talking about. The wiki page was pointing at an old (since removed) URL for 0.9x. I updated it to point at the bootstrap instead.
Should probably also put a download link on https://chat.cohtitan.com (where the button on the main cohtitan page takes you). But we really need somebody willing to do some HTML work on that page and flesh it out. Hit up Sekoia if interested, I think the page is using some system to automatically generate stylesheets and such.
Will do.
So, what is in 1.0.12.4? I didn't see any patch notes for it.

So, what is in 1.0.12.4? I didn't see any patch notes for it.
It was just the 13th Anniversary badge, "Timeless." No other new shinies. Yetâ„¢.
Rule of thumb is that if the 4th number in the version changes (the patch level), it's a minor fix or tweak and nothing to get excited about.
Patch notes for version 1.0.13Update branch: Release
Release date: 7 May 2017
Events
- When receiving a permanent flying disc from a gift box, remove the one-shot version of the power so that players don't end up with both at once.
- The Candy Keeper, located in the Ski Chalet in Pocket D, now acepts candy canes in exchange for a number of event badges, as well as the various powers (temporary as well as permanent) from the Winter's Gift holiday event.
Miscellaneous
- Close contact dialogs when the player moves too far away from the NPC that was clicked on to open it.
Zones
- Get the Candy Keeper's feet out of the floor.
Buys all teh badges and runs into a dark corner like a fiend...
Yay! Perma Snowballs!
*evil grin*
Stay awesome, CW.
Poor Trina's gonna be so jealous. She's still ankles deep, lol.
She shrugged at me when I mentioned it. I guess she's more hardwood floor than woman now.
Perma-Snowball and Flying Disks for all, huzzah !! Codewalker, you and your team are Absolutely Fabulous !!
Quick Question: Is there any way to transfer Candy Canes from one toon to another?
As Salvage behaved in events for the past, probably not.
Quote from: Nyghtshade on May 08, 2017, 05:02:05 PM
Quick Question: Is there any way to transfer Candy Canes from one toon to another?
If you can run more than one instance, the easiest trick is to use one toon to purchase Holiday Cheers and then gift them to the toon that needs Candy Canes. They usually spit out more canes than the 5 it costs to purchase Holiday Cheer, so barring receiving temp powers and junk (which still gives at least one candy cane, I believe) you can conceivably make a profit.
If you can't run more than one instance, I'm sure you could find a willing soul to trade Holiday Cheers with. I'd be happy to help you out, for instance. :)

The long-term average candy cane acquisition rate for opening Mystery Gifts (what you get when somebody uses Holiday Cheer on you) is 3 candy canes per box*. That was taken into account when determining the vendor prices.
If you're lucky, you might be able to get ahead in the short term. If you try to turn it into an infinite candy cane machine, you'll find that the house always wins.
GiftShop wgBoxGifts[] = {
{ 10, GIFT_JINGLEJET },
{ 20, GIFT_SNOWBALL },
{ 10, GIFT_JUNK },
{ 10, GIFT_BOXMESSAGE },
{ 20, GIFT_CANDYCANEHIGH },
{ 1, GIFT_LKT },
{ 10, GIFT_FRISBEE },
{ 5, GIFT_TOYBAT },
{ 0, GIFT_NONE }
};
* It's 3 per box if you already have all of the various winter event powers. If you don't have them yet, the average candy cane drop rate will be a little lower while those powers are still in the pool. Once you have them, they are ignored, so the drop table looks like this:
{ 10, GIFT_JUNK }, // Spawns physics object
{ 10, GIFT_BOXMESSAGE }, // Dialog box, gives 1 candy cane as a consolation prize
{ 20, GIFT_CANDYCANEHIGH }, // 4-7 candy canes
I stand corrected. However I only had personal experience to base my hypothesis on, and not actual maths. Darn maths! They get me every time!
I was just having a lucky night though, and by no means trying to cheat the system. Christmas will roll around in no time as it is. I mean, it's already May? Noooo! I'm not ready! :P
Latest Patch adds the Candy Cane Vendor in the Ski Chalet - good prices, too :)
Having missed the winter event, is there any other way to get candy canes?
Any zones that still spawn presents?
You can get them from other players who have charges of Holiday Cheer left. They hand you a gift box, you open it for a chance at Candy Canes.
Otherwise, next December the event returns.
How many badges total are available now?
474 badges available now, including Toy Collector which technically won't be available until the winter event reopens.
Perfect, that's where I am at. I have Toy Collector already tho, am I not supposed to?
If you participated in the winter event this past holiday season you probably already have it (and I know you did because we traded lots of presents ;D ) but newcomers won't be able to get it until December.
Any news on History badges? Read that there was some hope in getting these implemented as well, just with different background stories.
No word yet.
How about the safeguard badges?

How about the safeguard badges?
They would be nice also, hoping at some point there will be more badges, spending most of my time collecting them on my different characters. Really hoping that something can be done for the Hallowe'en Event
Mysterious Disconnection Upon Zoning
I have noticed that occasionally I get a 'Mapserver Disconnected' upon completing a Zone move.
The odd thing is, when I type /xmpp_connect to try to reconnect, I get 'Unknown Command'
EDIT:
When I log out and come back in, I'm sitting at when I zoned from.
'Mapserver disconnected' means that the client lost connection to your local Paragon Chat instance, it has nothing to do with XMPP.
It could mean that Paragon Chat crashed, or that your computer is overloaded and the process is taking too long to respond (swapped to disk). But none of the PC-specific commands will work.
Patch Notes - how about putting the current version of Paragon Chat at the top? You can edit the top post, and still create a copy on the bottom of the current version. I don't know that if you're an administrator of the forum if you can create a new post at the top or re-organize the order of the posts.
This would be a help for me to see the current version as soon as I get here - I think others may want this too. However, I'm not concerned about them, it's all about me.
You are just a figment of my imagination.
When you run Paragon Chat, the latest version is shown on the Login Panel.
And if you prefer top to bottom patch notes, there's already a place for that. (https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Paragon_Chat/Notes) :)
I would like to see the rampant "lost connection to map server" bug fixed this has become obnoxious, like lctm ten times in a row obnoxious i am getting seriously frustrated here.
I would love to see the Architect Entertainment (https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Architect_Entertainment) up & running. Any plans for it to?
As it stands you can already access AE and write missions and such. However, the ability to play or test said missions still depends on combat and mob spawning mechanics that probably won't be possible in an XMPP client. That being said, codewalker has already worked miracles in creating what we do have, so he'd be the one to have the final word on that.
Though it may be a bit out of date now, you can find a list of stuff he is/was planning to implement eventually here: https://www.cohtitan.com/forum/index.php?topic=11126.0
Thanks, Korbian, for the info.

Patch notes for version 1.0.13.1Update branch: Release
Release date: 15 Sep 2017
Network
- Fix service discovery issue that breaks MUC when connecting to XMPP servers that strictly implement RFC 6120 (notably Openfire 4.1 and later).
UI
- Force the COH client to register itself as high-DPI aware. This fixes the scaling issue when running fullscreen on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 on a high-DPI monitor (generally 4k+ resolutions or tiny notebook screens).
Thank you, sir.
PS: Small typo in the main Patch Notes thread. You say "1.0.31.1" instead of "1.0.13.1".
Confirmed - I made a brand new installation of Openfire and Paragon Chat on a home computer that had never had either installed and Voila! Everything worked like a charm out of the box.
Minor update today.
Patch notes for version 1.0.13.2Update branch: Release
Release date: 6 Oct 2017
Costumes
- Unlock the pumpkin head (found under Special Helmets) costume piece in the tailor.
;D Yay! <3
Groovy. That was one of my favorite special bits back in the day.
One question, how do I get the candy canes?
Patch notes for version 1.0.14Update branch: Release
Release date: 17 Oct 2017
Events
- Knock, knock. Be careful out there.
Gameplay
- The 'go to hospital' button in the defeat dialog is now functional.
Miscellaneous
- Added a new easter egg, and a badge for finding it.
Powers
- The option to delete temporary powers from the power list window is now functional.
Squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! :D
OMG! This was always one of the highlights of the gaming year in CoH! Thank you so much for bringing back! No fighting, but at least now there is dying, and even that feels nostalgic! 8)
Are there any hints to the TOT Easter egg?
That one exists.
There's a reason they're called Easter Eggs. Someone has to find them first.
Now that people have had a chance to experience the event cold, here are the full patch notes. Huuuge hint about the easter egg for those who didn't spot somebody with the badge and find it last night.
Supplementary patch notes for version 1.0.14Update branch: Release
Release date: 17 Oct 2017
Events
- Added Trick or Treat event. The event runs yearly from Oct 1 - Oct 31.
- Most doors in outdoor city zones are eligible. Some doors in common social hubs are excluded.
- There is a 3 second cooldown after a successful trick or treat before another door can be clicked.
- After being clicked, doors become ineligible for trick or teating for 10 minutes. Unlike the live game, this is rolling counter and they do not all reset at once.
- There is a 50% chance of receiving a treat from the following list:
- A piece of Halloween salvage: Statesman Halloween Mask, Lord Recluse Halloween Mask, Back Alley Brawler Halloween Gloves, or Hamidon Halloween Costume. (Common)
This salvage currently does not have any in-game purpose, but as was done with the winter event, a vendor will likely be added as some point to trade it in for permanent powers or other items.
- One of 33 temporary costume powers. These powers expire 14 days (real time) after being acquired. (Uncommon)
Note: Each power has a separate entry in the drop table, so while their rarity is uncommon, they drop quite frequently at first because there are so many.
- A candy cane. (Uncommon)
- A rock. Single use temp power, can stack up to 10 charges. (Rare)
- Box of 11 candy canes. (Very Rare)
- If you don't receive a treat, you'll instead get a trick:
- A halloween-themed pop-up door message. (Common)
- A redcap on your head! (Uncommon)
- Transformed into a Rikti Monkey for 1 minute. They finally made a monkey out of you. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cy6CFTMnYa4) (Uncommon)
- Mot will reach up and 'tentaport' you to a random location. (Uncommon)
- "Mot Chompers". Inspired by the Voracious Maw (http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/powers/power.php?id=DilemmaDiabolique.Sentinel.Voracious_Maw) power from the Dilemma Diabolique Incarnate Trial. (Uncommon)
- "Falling Sword". The sword cracks the ground and leaves a deadly blue patch that deal fast-ticking damage to anyone standing on it. Based on Battle Maiden's ability to call down falling swords (oddly called 'Spears (http://tomax.cohtitan.com/data/powers/summon.php?id=BattleMaidenAlpha_BattleMaiden#Incarnate_AlphaStrike.Battle_Maiden_Spears.Summon_Spears)') from the fight with her in the Apex Task Force. (Uncommon)
- "Confused Zombie". A zombie got lost on its way to a zone invasion event. (Rare)
- "Orbital Cannon". Instant death to anyone who doesn't move out of the target area. Loosely based on the Obliteration Beam (https://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Keyes_Island_Reactor_Trial/Strategy#Fighting_Anti-Matter) from the final battle with Anti-Matter in the Keyes Island Reactor Trial. (Very Rare)
- The Trick or Treat event enables players to earn three new badges:
- Clothes Horse - Collect 10 costume temp powers
- Fashionable - Collect 25 costume temp powers
- Ostentatious - Collect 50 costume temp powers
Gameplay
- The 'go to hospital' button in the defeat dialog is now functional.
- Hit Points and Max HP are now synchronized over XMPP, so other players' health bars will be somewhat accurate.
Miscellaneous
- Added a new easter egg, and a badge for finding it.
Or maybe there is no badge, and this is just a twisted way to see how Gullible people are.
Powers
- The option to delete temporary powers from the power list window is now functional. Not-so-subtle hint: Using this ability is the only way to earn the Ostentatious badge without waiting until next year.
codewalker, i just want to let you know what a great job that you have done, the halloween content is great. tyvm

Thanks again for all you give to the coh community
I missed the Halloween event last year, this is awesome. Trick or Treating is fun! I love the tricks and the treats, wonderfully imaginative way of using the client! My treat for this year is just being able to experience Halloween in my city again. :D :D :D
Codewalker, I taught him everything he knows.
I'm so proud.
Ok, ok, I never met the man, geez.
Maybe not the best place to ask this but:
I recently reinstalled Windows and Paragon Chat on a new harddrive and my badge collection character from before is no longer in the list of characters. As he had over 400 badges, I'd like to continue using him. I still have access to the old harddrive.
What files need to be copied from my old harddrive to the new one to get my badge character back?
Thanks!
On the old hard drive, look under \Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\ParagonChat
Go into the "Database" subfolder. The file you're after is ParagonChat.db. Copy it over to the new computer. Make backups, preferably onto a cloud service like dropbox/onedrive.
If you installed PC somewhere other than the default location, you'll need to search for it. Since it sounds like you're no longer booting off the drive you can't just use the folder button in the login window to find it.
I was only skimming the patch notes. I totes overlooked the tentaport line item. It got me today. I really wish that had been on live. That was so much fun. I mean, imagine a whole group tentaported to different places on the map! How funtastic would that have been?
It can't be said too much or too often: Thank you for all of your hard work.
Just the way my luck goes I sorta missed most of the window for the event. Did it start on the first of October or the 17th?
Guess I better get at it.....
It started on the 17th. In subsequent years it'll start on Oct 1.
Don't worry though, there will be a 1.0.14.1 patch before the end of the month that extends it Nov 16 for 2017 only, since we'd otherwise lose two weeks. That should give a bit of time for people just hearing about it to give it a try without being rushed.
DYING IS SO COOL!!!
Never thought I would be happy to see the " Go to Hospital " pop up on the screen, lol. Best update yet. If you get any inspirations on other ways we can meet with grisly, gory, horrific, stinging, embarrassing Death, BRING EM ON!
A Few Deadly Spawns here and there peppered around the City would add a great deal of spice to an otherwise Totally safe environment. Half the thrill of COH was getting your butt handed to you by Jack in Irons when you rounded the wrong corner in Croatoa or didn't notice that crowd of Knives of Artemis until they had diced and sliced you into a photo-worthy Deli presentation.
Not that I'm a sadist or anything, ahem, but a little risk of losing life or limb can make badge hunting a challenge and wandering the city exciting.
Great work on the event CW.
I just jumped in for a bit of trick or treat fun. That was a good time, thank you so much.

Not everyone would want to do this. Perhaps the outdoor areas of PVP zones could be made dangerous in some manner? Provocative Violent Participation? Use the PVP indicator to indicate that it only happens in those zones? Or put something in AE?
Codewalker for mayor of Paragon City!
I wasn't really thinking of regular city zones, but mostly Hazard Zones. It's just a little sad to roam through the Hive or visit Monster Island and there is nothing there to make you be Careful. Croatoa was always one of my favorites because it was sorta always Halloween there between Eochai and Jack, Sally and the witches, it was spooky.
I Miss seeing Adamaster, Jurrasik, Babbage, and Luska, you know the guys who could one hit you most of the time, absent from their normal stomping grounds. Seems weird standing on the Rickti Mothership and there is nothing to worry about.

Patch notes for version 1.0.15.1Update branch: Release
Release date: 26 Oct 2017
UI
- Attempt to detect when running under Wine, and fall back to using the old Windows XP folder chooser rather than the new one introducted in Vista.
This may make it easier to choose the COH installation folder on Macs, which seem to have an incomplete implementation of the new common file dialog.
Well done Codewalker.
As if having a working TP with cool aura wasn't enough. We get recall friend too! Which I've had fun using in...
The Halloween Event has been fun to take part in. :)
I have all but the last fashion badge and a bucket of salvage. (I guess that's the one I have to delete temporary powers NPC costumes to 're-collect' enough of them to get to 50?) I even got my rock. (Prized possession.) Though if I could have one request would be to have the stone mallet spawn in my hand... (It's a guy thing...)
This is an interesting patch:
Tasks. Somethings to do.
Temporary NPC spawn powers that you can transform into...and be affected by.
A Zombie npc that 'spawns' and walks around? (Did I see that correctly, he comes out the ground and/or emerges from or goes into a door?)
An 'easter egg' in Croatoa (map design...at work...)
Powers that affect the PC.
Working hit points from those environment spawn powers.
A working hospital. (Never thought I'd be glad to see that working again...or feel the existential 'joy' of dying in game...)
Care of the instant death Orbital 'nuke.'
Salvage that you can collect from the environment.
To be...traded in later...from a vendor for...'other stuff.'
Badges.
...these may seem like subtle additions to some under the cloak of an 'event' but I think they are significant. They demonstrate another test bed of functionality that was previously 'missing' from Paragon Chat...and that we have working hit points in Paragon Chat (and a working Hospital!) is tantamount to teasing.
It suggests that the 'team' are intimately connected with the inner workings of the CoH client and 'arcane sorcery' to plug into said client. The list above begs the questions we all want to ask but daren't. it's just best to enjoy the bricks of functionality being 'sensitively' and 'diplomatically' restored to the CoH community.
Rightfully under the 'radar', this patch finally demonstrates the further potential functionality of the Paragon Chat and Client combo with the quiet suggestion of more to come. A quietly confident release.
And if that wasn't enough...
We get Peacebringers and Warshades with transformational powers 'right after' the event release.
And this is 'only' 1.0.15. (Can we imagine what a 2.0 release would have?)
Well done to Codewalker and his team.
The CoH legacy is in safe hands.
Azrael.
QuoteFor 2017 only, Trick-or-treating has been extended to run through Nov. 16.
W00T!! :D
I just tried it on my old Mac and my husband's newer PC.
On the Mac some weirdness to note:
- None of the damage dealing Tricks were significant enough to defeat me. When I saw other people talk about how fun it is use the Hospital button again, I assumed they must be getting multiple damage Tricks in a row. The death from above nuke didn't even do any damage.
- The Mot Tentaport doesn't teleport my toon anywhere. Instead I just can't move anywhere. Usng /stuck or the Teleport power will change my toons location but I still can't turn, run or jump. Quitting to Log In screen was the only work around.
On the PC:
- The first time I logged in the floating island was in Croatoa but there were no other halloween updates. No trick or treating, no new powers, nothing. I reloaded it again to make it work.
- I still find that going to Pocket D makes the whole thing quit suddenly after a few minutes. No idea why.
Misc. Fun things:
- It's possible for Rikti Monkeys to have tiny redcaps banging their head.
- Nova form doesn't turn into a Rikti monkey.
- Rikti monkeys ride Rocket Boards and Flying Carpets around their wastes.
Thank you, Codewalker!!!

Interesting.
By design, the Mot chompers should not be enough to defeat a player. Including the final big tick, standing in the patch the entire time should take you down to about 20-30% HP.
The blue patch from the sword, however, should do enough damage to defeat a player who stands in the patch for about 6-7 seconds (varies slightly depending on AT).
And the orbital strike does more than enough damage in a single tick to defeat a player - there is no anti-oneshot code in Paragon Chat.
I honestly can't think of anything that could cause such
specific weirdness without breaking everything else in the program.
What can we use the salvage for?
Thank you, Codewalker! You and Null the Gull made my dream come true. Now I'd like to have that as a costume power, however....
(Is leveling up a thing? I got a notice about being able to level up but it seems that doesn't work, right?)

Halloween salvage is basically a placeholder right now. It exists (both now and in the past) as something to fill in the gaps when you had acquired all or nearly all of the costume powers.
Candy canes can be taken to the Candy Keeper in the ski chalet and traded for winter holiday goodies.

Yay, OMG! :) Wooooooo! Can't wait. We finally got a couple more employees into my department at work, so I may go back down to my normal hours soon and be able to play again! 8)
HELP!!!
I can't log into paragon chat after I got the latest Windows 10 update. It gets 3/4 of the way to logging in and then fails. I've tried the repair function but I get an error message that says "there is a problem repairing paragon chat. Check that you have completely exited Paragon Chat before attempting to repair". I am all the way out of Paragon Chat, task manager confirms this.
What can I do to fix that that doesn't make me lose all of my badges?

Before you do anything, backup your character database to a flash drive.
It's located here:
C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\ParagonChat\Database\ParagonChat.db
Everybody should really be doing this frequently. I do a lot of db hacking for costumes, so I backup at least once a week. I also backup other things like demos.
Not sure what your main problem could be. I'm on Win10, as well, and haven't run into problems.
Open the side panel of your PC.
Your will find little black boxes with white switches.
Flip the little white switches one by one until your problem is gone.
This procedure comes highly-not-reccommended by anybody who knows anything about computers.
Enjoy!
And as always, don't try this at home, or on your own PC.

Agreed! I'm still amazed that it's necessary to stress this so often. Computers are machines. They do break. Your backup is the only thing securing the data. The OS can be replaced, it just takes time. In most cases, the data can't - especially photographs!
Whenever I change *anything* remotely important, I shoot it up to Google Drive as an off site backup, then I copy it to another internal drive and once a week I archive the lot to an external drive. It doesn't take long using one of the multitude of free tools available out there for doing just this sort of thing. It may seem like a lot of messing about but if you lose those once in a lifetime photos or important financial data or anything else you've spent hours or weeks working on, you'll be kicking yourself!
Anyway, getting off my soapbox now :)
I agree that backups are very important.
I have a separate directory on my c-drive just for backups.

I can see this plan not failing. :)
Windows 10 has repeatedly rolled back drivers for older graphics cards back to their "Microsoft Basic Display Driver". Which is newer than what most older cards have, but is also garbage and doesn't support OpenGL. That might be your issue.
Is there a way to fix that?
In the past, I'd say in Windows Update, click on details and uncheck the Microsoft Basic Display Driver, then right click the update and choose Hide Update. That would knock it out until the next time Microsoft revises the driver and pushes it under a new KB Article Number to make it reappear as a new download. Under Windows 10, that's not possible.
Press Start and type "Device Manager". In Device Manager, right click on your video card, go to Properties, then the Driver tab and "Update Driver". Pick "Browse my computer for driver software", then "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" and see if Windows 10 replaced the old drivers with the Basic Display Driver or not. If it hasn't, re-select your good one and click Next to bring it back.
If the Microsoft Basic Display Driver is the only option, I'd download the driver you know that works from your manufacturer and reinstall it that way. Unfortunately, you'd have to reinstall it every time Microsoft gets a hair up its behind and replaces it again.

Knock on the wrong door during Trick-or-Treating.
If you throw yourself off a building, and hit the ground, does that not reduce your HP down to one?
Fall damage is not on the development timeline for Paragon Chat as far as I know. ;D
So, just what content can we put into an addon-blah.pigg file?
How does content in an addon interact with pre-existing content? Judging by addon-map-pack.pigg, the contents of the addon currently replace or override the pre-existing versions?
If multiple addons are loaded, what order are they loaded?

Anything you would put in the data folder as well as files that aren't normally loaded from the data folder, like geobins.

Override. The game client only sees the last version loaded. All the files in all piggs are loaded (you don't need to ensure some things are loaded before others), but only the last one loaded is used.

Piggs in the game client's piggs folder are loaded first; then ParagonChat.pigg, finally any addon-*.pigg files in alphabetical order.
Looks like Leandro answered it.
The functionality is extremely barebones and was quite literally thrown together on Friday as a stopgap measure before the stream. Needed to be able to publish the files for the map pack without having to put them multiple places or in the Issue 24 files (which I'm trying really hard to treat as 'read only').
It will probably be modified or replaced entirely once a real addon system is done. Features I want complete at launch for that are:
- Standard container format like ZIP so people don't need pigg packing tools.
- UI for players to be able to toggle addons on/off before launching the client.
- Ability for addons to supply a manifest file and take advantage of the built-in update check/patching system.
- Author control of dependency and load order w.r.t. other addons.
- Ability to modify files like zone.cfg in a way that multiple addons can coexist without stomping on each other.
- Ability to supply textures in png format and have them automatically converted. (Paragon Chat already can do this and uses it for badge images, this is just giving addons access to it)
The important requirement at some point will be a way to merge .bin entries without replacing the entire database. That's the real stickler when it comes to hosting multiple addons of custom content. Mod makers should only be including defnames or tricks or whatever for their custom content rather than replacing the entire defnames (or whatever) database with their own version of it.
I had Guy Perfect's "Classic Atlas Park" mod still installed when I installed the map pack, and the "Classic Atlas Park" defnames.bin played merry havoc with Kallisti Wharf. I deleted all of the "Classic Atlas Park" files, but even if I packed them up as an addon, it would still be a case of choosing one addon or the other to be useable at any given time because each of them expect to have their own version of defnames.bin installed when, as far as I can tell, the only custom element "Classic Atlas Park" actually needs is the Atlas statue defname and object library entries.
Yes, some new hooks will have to be created for specific elements that can be added/replaced. PChat already does some of that on the fly -- it generates a new costumes.bin with some of the store requirements removed, for instance, and adds a few new things to fxinfo.
That ties in with some other work involving a more flexible database format and a shard requirement system to ensure everybody sharing the same virtual space has the same extra content enabled, but there are pieces of it that can be rolled out in advance of all that.
@slickriptide If you link me to this 'classic Atlas Park' mod, I'll look at what it needs and add it to the map pack. I want to place nice with others!
Sure, here you go.

He intended it to show off how Icon could do custom maps. It worked just as well with the patched game client and Paragon Chat, except for the whole client/server desync thing.
With this new addon tech, the desync issue goes away.
