Yes, it's anime. Yes it's only subtitled for now. Yes, it's about superheros. It also plays up various tropes for outragious laughs. I'm five episodes in of a 12 episode series and it's great. It's on Hulu (US).

I recently started watching it, but I was already familiar with it from reading a bit of the manga awhile back. I like how it flips a couple of shonen hero conventions right from the start. The titular hero doesn't have to train to overcome foes, because he's already achieved his ultimate potential and lifelong dream. And he's not young, handsome, cool, or possessed of crazy hair.
Holy Frakk, that's awesome ;D ;D ;D
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, I have but one question...
Will there be more episodes?
There are extra episodes in the DVD/Blu-ray release in Japan, 7 more in total. No idea if they will eventually be shown on any of the streaming services.
I finished binging the 12 episodes last night. All the heroes ... why did it remind my so much of the eclectic mix of hero tropes you would run into in CoH.
I tripped across this show a few weeks ago. It's both hilarious and surprisingly deep
