The whole basis behind our business is to create a community that is for gamers made BY gamers, literally. Your opinions about content in games upcoming big decisions will be made by you. So help us help you and spread the word. I will update this thread pretty regularly as we are doing something everyday and expanding furthering our goal.

So... I'm confused. Is it The "Gamer Movement", the "Beta Movement", or the "Infinity Movement"? And is it a business or a community?

Good question, its both a community and a business the email says betamovement because its a temporary emailing platform while we obtain the domain rights for our business name "ace infinity" . The movement is called the infinity movement. The reason i titled it the gamer movement is because people dont yet know what the infinity movement is. In your opinion should i just simply keep it as the infinity movement?

What is your goal? What if your goal and my goal are oppositional?

The gamer movement is not an actual thing. The Infinity Movement is based on the communities so if you don't support us/it then that is perfectly okay. Our goal is to first get peoples attention to our cause which is to raise money to begin a business that will be ran totally democratically. Everything the business does our big decisions we make on games and release dates will be decided by the people. We plan to start as a magazine company, once we have a dev team for games we will begin to incorporate allowing our supporters to even do their own voice acting and much more. Email thebetamovement@yahoo.com for specifics if your'e interested. The site will be up as soon as we obtain the rights to the domain.

This is starting to remind me of https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2014/04/30/rgiii-explains-themovement/

I still have no idea what this is. It's a community? - it's a community of communities? - but it's a movement? - but it's a magazine? - but voice acting? - but games? - but it's a business? - give us money?

KeighCee, so far I'm hearing a lot of generalities here and no specifics.  You're not running for President, are you?

But seriously, what exactly is the purpose of your business/community/movement?  Because there are a lot of gamer communities already out there -- in fact, you're posting on one -- and none of them really cost anything.

Which makes your 'proposal' sound a little phishy...

Yes I understand that ahahaha, and the reason its all general is because the website is not complete yet once it is I will post the link and it will explain a lot better than I can. Yes the communities are free but this is different. The site should be up within a week or two and you will be able to judge for yourself.

If I read it correctly, this "movement" hopes to eventually run a game democratically.

Good luck. I prefer companies be run by benevolent dictators. Democracy will be too slow, too inefficient for long-term success - at least, that's my opinion. Democracy is good for government, but I don't think that model will work very well with commerce.

It works for EVE - they have a republican element to their player involved development, with the Council of Stellar Management.

But given many of the anecdotes I've seen here about the vocal minority of the CoH forums, and the general lack of understanding of what goes in to a game on the general player base side of things for all games, I think a purely democratic game would not go well. Arguably even a purely republican one would fail.

(Do note the lack of capital letters, indicating I am talking about concepts, not political parties.)
