Making this because I'm finding it a little cumbersome to have any emote macros I make get deleted every time I exit Paragon Chat, so instead of keeping this to myself, I figured I'd share.
For some of you, this might be new, for others this is old news, but I thought I'd post up some useful macros for people to use to make "emoting" a little more user friendly than always having to type it in or fish it out of the emote menu. Note: these are just some of the emotes that I find useful, you can replace them with different ones if you prefer.
To use these just copy the text for each one and paste it into your chat box and hit enter (repeat for each "Macro Maker" macro), and it'll drop a macro into your power tray that you can click to create the individual macros for each emote. It's broken into multiple parts due to the text limit in the chat box.
/macro MM1 "macro Wave "em wave"$$macro Dance "em dance"$$macro Boombox "em boombox"$$macro Sit "em sit"$$macro Slap "em slap"$$macro Smack "em smack"$$macro SlapReact "em slapreact"$$macro Alakazam! "em alakazam""
/macro MM2 "macro AlaReact! "em alakazamreact"$$macro SaveCoH! "em holdtorch"$$macro Laptop "em laptop"$$macro Cellphone "em cellphone"$$macro Drink "em drink"$$macro Donut! "em donut"$$macro PanHandle "em panhandle""
/macro MM3 "macro Invent! "em invent"$$macro Radioooo! "em listenpoliceband"$$macro Waiting... "em waiting"$$macro BlahBlah "em yatayata"$$macro Fliers "em pamphlet""
Bonus macros for answering commonly asked questions:
/macro MM4 "macro Flying? "say Not yet, it will be added soon™."$$macro Zones? "say You can either walk to another zone on foot, or use /mapmove # to zone directly there. Trains do not yet work unfortunately.""
/macro MM5 "macro Tiny? "say It's done by editing the database file locally on your computer. It's easy enough to figure out, just don't abuse it..."$$macro CostumeSlots "say Go to any Icon location and use a free costume token.""
I may add to this list in the future, but feel free to post your own.
Open Notepad.
Paste the following in it:
Window Macros 0 0 200 100
Open 1
End
Go to File -> Save
Navigate to your COH install folder.
Go into (create if necessary) a folder called "data"
Create a folder called "customwindows" and go into it
Save the file as "custom.window" making sure you use quotes in the File -> Save dialog (otherwise, Notepad will append .txt and break it).
Now, launch Paragon Chat. You will see a window like this one:
Drag and drop your macros into it, or use the "New command" button to create new macros.
The client will save your macros to the same file, and they will be there every time you log in, on all your characters.
For example, after moving the window a bit and adding the Wave macro, the file now reads:
Window Macros 0.0256 0.1822 200 100
Button Wave "em wave"
Open 1
End
That might actually be infinitely more useful than mine... :P
Edit: Tried it, it makes reloading the above listed macros tons easier than alt-tabing and copy/pasting them all each time. Thanks for the tip, Leandro!
Thank you!!

Damn that's slick... makes mapmove so much faster, just save one for each zone.

This works nicely! But I have one question left, how do I close the window? I've opened about 5....
Click on their title. They won't close, but they'll become a little square you can click on to expand it again.
If you want to remove a window, you have to edit the custom.window file to delete it. I don't think there's a command for it.
I have no idea what I'm doing wrong. I've followed the instructions to a T. Each time I relog, my custom window is gone and I have to create it all over again. It's almost as if the came is not reading the custom.window file in the directory.

Are you sure it's in the right folder? Or do you mean the file itself is being deleted...?
My custom.window file is in the Paragonchat/Data/customwindows folder. It has the txt that Leandro specified. When I go into game, my custom window called "macros" does not appear. I have to create it manually. So I do that, put all my macros in it and everything is fine.
Log out
Log in
No custom window. Macros gone. Good joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains.
NVM, lol, I figured out what I was doing wrong, it's all good now
I assume this would also work in Icon?
Thank you for this!
Macro windows work in Icon. Specific macros might have to be changed, like ones using emote would have to be rewritten to use mov.
THANK YOU!!! ;D ;D ;D
This is awesome!
Outta the nine trays, 2&1/2 were powers and the others were macro (stickers and silly stuff for Cape show)
This will make things a lot easier!!!

Hi there. So, I've been using this custom window feature in Paragon Chat ever since this was posted here. It's been nifty.
One question: when I first load up Paragon Chat, the window is always in the top-left position. If I relocate it, and then type /wdwsave, and then completely reset my system (log out of both client and launcher), the
location of this custom window resets. Is there any way I can get this custom window's
position on my screen to 'stick'?
If anyone knows, let me know.
