Title: Cryptic Studios to release costume set that isn't ready yet

Well, some people were already thinking "PR disaster waiting to happen" and it's about to, OH WAIT IT'S ALREADY RELEASED.

Why?  God, DAAAAAAMNIT!

No, not God, DAAAAAAMNIT!

More like, "ghawd damnit!" in a weakened, stressed out manner of voice.

I mean I log onto CO, get trolled, decide to try logging onto VO, can't do so they got maintenance.  So then I see this thread.  Oh wow, no wonder people are trolling today on CO.  Man, this is a shameful display.  I mean people in the forums were saying for a long time now that the set wasn't ready and that it was not only incomplete but just not worthy.  Sigh, I had hopes for these guys.....

surprised this does not surprise me. The co devs seem to be doing less and less with every "update". I sooo can't find myself to log in and play any more. :) I too am waiting for VO to reopen after they apply a patch :).

I criticised them and they removed my post cause Crossy couldn't stand the amount of truth in it.  Oh well, reality will crash on the guys over there and then they'll be hurting when they realize how much at fault they are.  And if they continue, then it'll continue hurting them until they are willing to let go and it'll only take more strength for them to maintain that god fantasy of theirs.

Yeah, I was going to log into VO Yesterday(well, wednesday, looking at the time) but I had some issues that day, light head and not so well arm after a donation that I forgot.  Nore would I have really been in much of a condition anyways.

I keep seeing positive things from everywhere else but I just can't see anything positive from Cryptic Studios now.  I was positive, shame on me, as I'd been fooled twice.

Edit: I took some closer looks at my costumes and it looks like the screwed up the muscle tones now to, so they look like the anorexic tone the urban anime pieces are cursed with but now applied to all females.  I guess they think all women are supposed to look like anorexic anime chicks....(I know it's a bug and they better fix it before a backlash occurs).

I don't play CO for my hope of it's future I play it for my enjoyment of it's present. CO is what it is. Its monthly sub is overpriced, it's over-marketed in-game (I mean come on, most of the best loot in CO can be BOUGHT.. either with your sub stipend or cash - if that's not pay to win I dunno what is), underdeveloped, and has serious connectivity issues and is a fun game to a lot of people like me.

This thing with the flawed costumes? Don't buy them if it bothers you. Is the whole thing ridiculous? You betcha.  Will there be more ridiculousness? Very likely.

That's CO. Ever since I started playing anyway.

It's good to play other games once in awhile. Burnout happens in every game, The ones you really like you come back to. Sometimes you find one you really like more  : )

Sorry you guys if you were really looking forward to this costume.. : /

I can't play the game at all with my characters, who are supposed to look reasonably tough and fit(not like those stupid giant muscle characters mind you) now look like pathetic anorexics.  ALL female chars with any use of the muscle slider now look that way.  Horrible bug.

Really? There are a lot of sexah CO toons out there right now that look like they have some muskel.

Hrrrmm. Well, that would suck to get your look messed up.,

When is that supposed to get fixed? We need all the sexah toons we can get! Now THIS is a serious problem!

OK I was kidding at the end. Sort of.. But serious about the being sorry. I hope they don't steal all my guys' packages.. ACK too late..

I better go..

Humm.. I haven't noticed a thing. Something I did notice was that at some point I lost some fire patch effect visuals. Like in Warlord? First I notice my HP's are next to nothing, then I block/move, Then I see the fire patch. Usually. I don't see my own Flashfire fire patches. Usually. I just saw my Fissure fiery patch for the first time in ages and only see it now and then like with the other fire patch effects. I know I used to consistently see Fissure due to I spam it and some ppl would complain about lag in Gravi. I tried resetting my video settings to whatever the Max/Ultra setting is called (and over time tweaking that how I want with no comic outlines, etc.) and it hasn't helped *ahrug*.

I remember seeing this problem with the muskels in Zone from a male toon now that we're talking about it but I haven't noticed it on mine. Have to look closer... Suuuurely my guys ate Some spinach.. How could I leave a slider like that alone...?

I'm not noticing the difference on my guys and am continuing a close examination of female toon musculature to make sure I haven't missed any changes there..

I'm not seeing it yet but am ever vigilant.

Here's the issue illustrated.

There's a bug that's just popped up with the latest patch that needs addressing - female tights patterns with bump-mapping that raises textures on the torso is instead recessing those textures, causing some very strange looking effects.

And it's not just happening on tights with skin. It's happening on many if not most skintight options.

Basically - any detail that should be raised ABOVE the level of the skin in order to help define a piece is now sunk INTO the skin as an indentation.

This image is a good close detail of the problem - look where the arrow is pointed. That indented section should be a raised section instead. (Oddly the part around the breasts is unaffected and still looks raised)

Here's a more subtle example of the problem. I almost didn't see this, but upon closer examination... yeah, it's there.

Here's an image I took a few days ago before the patch.

And just this morning - going back to the exact same location and angle, here's the same character exhibiting the glitch.

If you're not sure - bring up the two images in your viewer program and "flip" them back and forth and it will become obvious where the problem is.

The above comparison shots also serve as proof that this is a recent bug that's just occurred and not an ongoing bug that's been here for a long time. This literally occurred with the latest patch.

NEW UPDATE:

Actually got a response from a Cryptic Dev in the forums:

Heya folks,

Thanks for the report. We're aware of this bug and working on a fix. We hope to get it out to you with next week's maintenance.

I think this is a clear indication that... the problem was male-caused due to breasts (focus area) still being perfect.

Couldn't resist...

I see what we're talking about now, in the pics (the top one is easier), but hadn't seen it until now... I will have to continue on with a closer examination to see if I can spot it in game. Can be I was also focusing on the wrong areas.. When Alex said musculature I ofc immediately began a thorough leg and booty examination.

It's good to see they finally commented on it.  I hope they seriously follow through.  But go figure, it was a total change in geometry and it was especially apparent to me around the mid-rift.

Still have yet to notice this. It's probably due to this tiny backup screen I've been using.. Or maybe it's video card/driver specific? Everything still looks normal to me *shrug* It's obviously not! Just saying.

I would imagine they'd have this fixed pretty soon. My recall circuits are telling me that this kinda thing isn't super uncommon and usually goes away as fast as it appeared.
