Post by: Hyperstrike on May 16, 2015, 01:04:14 PM
http://originsgamefair.com/

Hey guys.  It's gaming convention season again for me.

And, as always, I'll be hosting the CoH Meet and Greet at Origins Game Fair.

And, as always, we'll be meeting up at BD's Mongolian Grill (http://www.gomongo.com/locations/28021-bds-mongolian-grill-columbus-arena-district).

Date: Saturday, June 6th.
Time: 7:00 PM (Local Time, Eastern)

Everyone's welcome to come.  Even if you're not attending the con.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Hyperstrike,

I am registered to attend the convention on Saturday and take part in the costume contest (http://originsgamefair.com/events/special-events/costume-contest/) from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Celebrity guest Chloe Dykstra (http://originsgamefair.com/guests/) is scheduled to appear at the costume contest, presumably as a judge.

Count me in for the CoH meet and greet dinner at bd's Mongolian Grill, please.

Todo

Hem I am on vacation that week. Is this grill you speak of in Columbus Ohio? And if it is which one is it? It lists several. I do not know if I can make it, but I am looking into it. I am thinking a long Harley ride.

Yes, I am. I plan to wear a new and improved bodysuit. (If it's done in time.)

BMorrison is correct.  You want the Arena District one (that's what the link itself says).

Looking forward to seeing all of you (again).

I've put my sidekicks on alert, and we'll be there for the annual meet!  Hmm time to boot up Icon and take some photos of the characters I didn't bother getting action shots of while the game was running.  We'll see you there!

Well I am afraid I can't make it. Finances are not good enough, and more importantly my mother is in bad health so I need to stay close by.

And, as usual, BD's is dirt-simple to pull a reservation at.

Trying to get a reservation for ANYTHING at GenCon is like pulling teeth (THROUGH YOUR RECTUM...WITH A CHAINSAW!!!)

So we're good to go!

It's 9:05 PM (Eastern) on Friday.

This means that the Meet and Greet is TOMORROW NIGHT!

Actually visited BD's tonight with my partners and it's still excellent!

There were about 7 of us who showed up, and also Congrats to Todogut for placing second in the Comic Division of the Costume contest.

Yes, thanks to Hyperstrike for organizing and hosting another CoH meet and greet. One of the attendees was Shin (@Megumi Yamato of the Justice server), who co-hosted the Off the Cape podcast (https://www.facebook.com/offthecape).

At Origins, Shin game mastered live roleplaying events, and I participated in one. Shin and his fellow GM gave a dazzling performance with high-energy story telling, voice acting, and lots of jokes and puns. I and eight or so other players enjoyed playing through the scenario, in which we played the roles of anime characters in high school, each with a very colorful, fantasy background. Hijinks ensued in the shared group story play.

If you like gaming, Origins is a fun time.

Okay, have recovered enough to post.

Had a great time Saturday night.  Again, congrats to Todogut.  The $100 prize pretty much paid for his day pass to the con and his gas.

Sunday was busy busy busy.  We had brought 40 pallets in with our packtrain.  Then we had a bunch more people jump onto the packtrain than expected.  We shipped out something like 75 pallets, plus more stuff that had to come from the warehouse.  But we were all broken down and packed up by 7:30.  Pretty fricking impressive job!

Then, Monday, the irish pub we ate at Sunday night came back and bit me.  The food was cold'ish (the fries were DEFINITELY cold) and wasn't prepped very well.
I spent a couple hours on Monday trying to pass my toenails past my tonsils (if I still had tonsils).
