Thank you for reading my stories. I hope that you have enjoyed them. As of this writing SFD returns is a little more than half finished. I have had a blast introducing you to Super Fire Dragon and his wit and wisdom.
SFD was one of my favorite toons from CoH. He was created to be a willpower fire blaster or blanker I think they're called. And he really did earn a toga. I made it blue as a play on words, drag dragon. That was pretty much when the silly began.
Anyway, the first story shows us life in Paragon City after the heroes have gone. Who knew that the citizens hated or resented the supers so much. Then the story twists and we see a new hero emerge. I started this story after reading the penguin story. I decided to steal the ignored love interest which couldn't go anywhere.
The second story continues from the first, but with a different cast of characters. SFD is brought back as the name implies. We get more details about characters' lives. I like to tell the story in dialog.
Anyway, feel free to comment here and let me know what you think.
As always yours, JohnG 736
I liked it John.
And you might want to change your password.
BeerMe is hardly secure.
Will do.
Sorry that I have not wrote nothing for a while.
I guess I have been busy.
Will try to get back to it soon(tm).
It's getting exciting.
What will Marshall do next?
Seriously, I haven't a clue. HELP!
j/k
Rare Earth can't swim?
Ice Manix is Leroy Jenkins?
Super Fire Dragon was right?
Who is 'double-d'?
Wow, I can't wait for the next installment.
Wait no longer.
Here it is.
Man I hope you enjoy reading this at least as much as I enjoyed writing them.
Are you like me? I hate Marshal Darkness.
Wow, over 400 people have viewed and thoroughly enjoyed the "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series.
Johng, 400 views doesn't mean 400 people. As a matter of fact, you take about 3 views to add another installment.
Shut-up you.
And to the 400, I say grazie!
That was a labor of love.
I thought that it might be interesting to tell the story of Paragon City after the game shut down. What is life like without supers running around loose. We even saw that with the heroes all was not pleasant. And picking SFD as a trainer is like having Mario Andretti teach driver's ed.
Writing this took me back to the game. I even looked up stuff on the CoX wiki. Thanks to whoever put that together.
Oh and yes, Mrs. Norris is the human form of the groundskeeper's cat from Harry Potter.
I did actually have a toon named Super Fire Dragon, but no Ice Manix or Rare Earth.
I'm thinking of taking a break for a while, always leave them wanting more, I have half an idea for the next one, but I'm not crazy about it.
If something better pops into my head, I will be back sooner rather than later.
Later!
This idea came to me and it is just too good.
Send a reformed hero to the Isles. What could go wrong?
Sorry I don't write more. The first two stories took a lot to write. Both mentally, trying to make the story make sense and be interesting as well as physically, because I'm using an Android phone to write these. Every once in a while the text editor loses its mind and sends my input up several lines. And of course with such a small screen, writing can become an arduous choir.
So, Kolissa is up to no good.
This Red Side Story, (no pun intended) promises to be more interesting than the previous two. Did somebody say, "How could it not be?". Was that you Brooks?
In case you were wondering, yes.
Red Side is the better idea I was waiting for.
The other idea was to follow Rare Earth, but I just didn't see a story there.
Fortunately, I see a few ways that this Red Side could go.
Obviously I can't have all out war, or could I.
Anyway, thanks again to the Paragon Wiki people.
Yikes, the red side is getting intense.
Poor Kolissa.
I have wonder what Super Fire Dragon has in mind.
Kolissa is stuck.
She can't resume hero work, well not in jewelry stores that's for sure.
She had better not show up in the Rogue Isles, either.
She was perfectly happy before that mission.
But now what.
Author trait number 4178.
Yes, some times I make myself giggle if not laugh out loud.
That should explain a lot.
Yeah, it looks like one should read:
"Where Have All The Heroes Gone" then read:
"Where Have All The Heroes Gone: SFD Returns"
Before reading
"Where Have All The Heroes Gone: Red Side"
That way you understand Super Fire Dragon more and are introduced to all the characters.
By the way, I goofed.
I had Sgt. Billings, a Nemisis, talking to Lord Recluse of the Arachnos.
Maybe he's a double lackey.
Anyway, I promise to keep the mistakes to a minimum.
"There's no need to fear, Ungerdog is here!"
So, what do you think, is Kolissa bad or just upset?
Please vote, that way I can give you what you want.
Unless you don't vote with the majority.
Or if I decide that the majority is cracked.
Or if I think of something better.
Or I just give up on forum fiction.
No, I'll go along with the majority.
(were my fingers crossed)
I'm thinking that after the mess with Kolissa is settled, I'm going to do something different.
So I ran a poll. Nobody voted. I got bummed out.
I'll get back to it soon.
OK, SFD also got bummed.
Poor dragon.
Anyway, where IS Kolissa?
And don't think about Necrophillia too much, she can be creepy.
There is an old writers' adage, when stuck, introduce another character.
I wouldn't do that.
Yup, my fingers were crossed.
OK, I would ask if anybody wants to read another story about "Where Have All The Heroes Gone", but the 2 people reading my stuff don't provide feedback.
It's just who they are.
Love you, Mom and Dad.
(I crack me up. My parents don't read this forum. 1. They were more into World of Warcraft than City of Heroes. 2. They aren't very techically savy. They pretty much stayed away from the internet. 3. My Mom died in 2001. 4. My Dad died in 2007. So I'm fairly certain that they aren't the ones reading these stories.)
So I'm thinking of pairing or teaming a few of the characters we have seen
But why am I telling you, you aren't going to say anything anyway.
So thanks for reading the stories and I'll keep plugging away at it.
JohnG 736.
I was hoping that "red side" would go three pages.
"task force" is going to have a lot of team banter, you've been warned.
Will Ms. Liberty ever be able to assign the Task Force?
Will she be able to convince the team that Statesman was her grandfather?
The answers to these and other questions if I feel like it.
JohnG 736,
Yes, we like your stories, stop being so insecure about it, geez. There are several errors and a few things that don't make sense, but for fan fiction on a forum, you rock. So, keep plugging away, and we'll keep reading, cuz there isn't very much out there anyway.
By the way, your stories have made me miss City of Heroes even more, thanks a heap.
>:(
Another satisified customer!
Let's see cover the 2, that makes 1 customer!
This Task Force story is getting a slow start.
Will they ever click the door?
At the time of this message. I have posted over 500 times. And each of Where Have ... stories have over 500 views. Coincidence? Probably.
Yes!
They finally went into the warehouse, and we're still on page 1.
I'm thinking that Ms. Liberty is going to knock some heads together real soon.
You can post questions or comments or suggestions to this forum.
Well, if you want to.
Like you could ask if SFD is Drain Bamaged.
You could ask how old Kolissa is.
You could ask for Necrophillia phone number, people are just dying to meet her.
I like my story, hats off to me. Good job, JohnG 736.
OK, it sounds like they have engaged the enemy.
I wonder how long that will last.
Quick quiz, how can we distinguish between alligators and crocodiles?
Anyone?
Anyone?
So, the door leading to the boss or AV is on fire.
The team is standing right there.
The zombies are fighting each other.
This could get interesting.
I realized that the task force story is only on the first mission.
What do you think of a story about really old superheroes?
Yeah, me too. I can't wait to start that one.
Giovanna is getting away, and the task force is going back to their contact to discuss things?
I think I want to quit this team and go farm AE.
Oh no!
Ms. Liberty is going to shut down the game.
I had me suspections that it was her all along.
Honestly, I never like Ms. Liberty. That is why I would level and go to other zones.
Ok, that wasn't the reason.
I won't write another word until you tell me what you think about this Task Force story.
Ha, like that could stop me.
Yeah, no, it didn't stop me.
<evil laugh/>
OK, should I replace them with lesser liked female toons of mine or better liked male toons. I think I got an idea, but in the writing game it's better to think about it for a while. If I make the wrong choice, there could be bloodshed. Making Necrophillia lose control might have been a mistake, but it was interesting.
There now are a lot of paths open, but taking any one of them could close off other paths. Like if Kolissa recovers, where does that take the story?
Saint Jeroboam. I crack me up.
Ok, Kolissa, which I must confess is one of my favorites, has recovered.
You can see it coming down main street, right?
Well, if not, give me time.
This weekend is a bust, I'm on retreat, which includes treats, so we're good.
But next week, look out.
Prayer to Saint Jeroboam:
O St. Jeroboam we bid you pray for us. Although we do not always walk in your ways, help us to come closer to God.
(For more information, 1 Kings 12:25 - 1 Kings 13, should give you an idea.)
Wow, 14 views since I last posted to "Task Force". The pressure, the pressure. Ha.
I continue to write for me, and I hope you enjoy it too.
That cracked me up when they were fighting over the intercom.
"No, you're doing it wrong. Give me the thing."
"Necrophillia, Necrophillia. Where are you?"
"How many a pizzas you want, huh?" The Italian chef replied over the intercom.
Classic.
In case you were wondering, the task force is currently on a map that doesn't allow the players to go to the hospital. Whoever came up with those should be sentenced to life in front of a firing squad. Ok, not really, but I always liked that line.
So, they have to lie there waiting for a wakie or three matching inspirartions. I think SFD has been hording blues and reds. Flower Night has a complete set of yellows, two of each size.
Ice Mannix uses his insprations as soon as he gets them, and never shares.
Rare Earth got cut-off from the group and is being guarded, but she does have four wakies.
Marshal Darkness ran out of inspirations a while ago.
This is going to take some doing to get this team back of its feet.
(ummm, any ideas?)
Wow, Necrophillia got reinstated. Can we trust her? And is Kolissa sane or evil? If evil, she is hiding it well, for now. <evil laugh />.
Did you know that Ms. Liberty can go into the code of the game and change the team hard-cap? Wow, she must know somebody, oh yeah, Statesman.
Well, let's hope that she doesn't have 'an episode' until after this task force is over, at least.
Should 'Task Force' go 5 pages?
Each time that I think that I have had enough, some cool idea comes to me.
(Well, I think that they are cool.)
But why am I asking you?
Wow, a thousand views of this formum.
One thousand people have read this formum and not one reply.
Maybe you people just like to read.
You don't really care what it says.
You only want something to read that you can read while you're riding the bus to dance class.
Or perhaps while you're communting to and from work.
Maybe you read this formum under your blanket after your mom told you to go to bed, you brat.
You should listen to your mother, unless she is your evil step-mother like in Cinderalla(sp).
Do you have to clean your step-sisters' rooms too?
And they get new clothes each season, while you have to wear clothes from the thirft store.
Do you have to wash the dishes every night as well?
Oh man, that stinks.
Well, when you're old enough, you can move out and get a low paying job some where and wish you were back home.
So, it all works out in the end.
How many people want me to kill off Kolissa?
How many people want me to kill off Super Fire Dragon?
You are a blood-thirsty bunch aren't you?
I could go all Shakespeare on the story and kill everybody at the end.
But then again, Shakespeare never wrote a sequel, what a noob.
This is me talking to Shakespeare:
You see, Billy, you never kill off the titularly character
So, I cleaverly named my stories not after any character, so they are all fair game.
What do you think, should Some Nut with a Gun and Super Fire Dragon fight?
Are you like me, do you really like Red Control?
Do you think Necrophillia would make a good babysitter?
Why yes, Necrophillia would make an excellant babysitter. And by the way, I let my children play with matches and run with scissors.
So is "Task Force" done?
You tell me.
Where have all the heroes gone?
Read "Where Have All The Heroes Gone: Task Force" before looking at the spoiler. I don't want to spoil the ending.
Ok, "Task Force" is done. (nobody replied to my question and said otherwise)
So what to do now?
Story Ideas:
Ice Mannix's kid grown up.
The Further Adventures of Developer 13
Necrophillia, Flower Night and Some Nut with a Gun: A Love Triangle (there was some sub-text there)
Kolissa goes wild and Necrophillia is sent to track her down ... wait I did that.
Not Another Hero and The Fattinator vs. Richard Bourbon XXIV and Vince Dastardly (no holds barred)
Ms. Liberty meets Bunnikins (no, they said to keep it PG)
Guns McCoy time travels to the Old West, and everybody asks if he is the real McCoy.
Marshal Darkness and Necrophillia have a zombie fight
Hey wait a minute, I did "Where Have All The Heroes Gone: Red Side". What about "Where Have All The Heroes Gone: Gold Side"? That might work.
There is nothing like feedback from my fans to help encourage me.
Thanks to all of you, I love you so much.
Yeah, I like that one with the secret agents.
You should do that one.
Too bad, so sad.
I went with that "Gold Side" idea.
The problem is that I didn't like Gold Side very much and I didn't play Gold Side very much. So I am at the complete mercy of the paragon wiki.
So if I get something wrong, blame them.
Now that I think about it, Paragon Lurker might be on to something. Secret agents, Why didn't I think of that?
You really should listen to me, every once in a while.
Wow, Developer 13 and Jenny Hall.
Ice Mannix is not going to be happy about this. No, sir, that happy at all.
Ascendant, we love you man.
Anybody else wanna teach that Syndicate member some manners?
Yeah, me too.
I'm working on some graphics for the stories. If I get that figured out, this might get interesting.
What should I do?
Is Positron really trying to take over Hero Corps?
Will Ice Mannix kill Vince Dastardly?
Will Ice Mannix ever find-out who the real father of Jenny's baby is?
I meant will Ice find out about Jenny and Developer 13?
Ice isn't the father?
Wow, this story has everything.
You really are the greatest writer of our generation.
See, PL gets it.
Thanks, Lurker, dude. Your comments mean so much.
You might enjoy this:
I think "Red Side" might be my favorite, so far.
I liked how Kolissa came back to Hero Corps.
As of this writing, however, "Gold Side" is just starting.
The first page of "Task Force" always cracks me up.
Was it a coincidence that Vince wanted to eat at a restaurant in Paetoria?
Of course not, I'm crafting a story here, hello.
Coincidence, really people.
I almost allowed the story to get out-of-hand.
You see, a writer has to be careful not to kill off important characters.
When writing fan fiction, one has to respect the fan-based characters. I can't have Ms. Liberty be a villain, people would complain. I won't read junk about Manticore doing bad things. And I know you wouldn't want that sort of thing from my stories.
And besides, isn't Kolissa an interesting character?
Let's here it for Kolissa!
I wrapped up some side stories, now to focus on the main story.
If only I knew where the main story was going.
I'm thinking that Ice and Dev aren't finished.
And what happened to Totally awesome Dude?
Wow, Necrophillia does have a temper.
Could you imagine, walking in to meet a group of friends, greeting them, and then being attacked by zombies.
Flower Knight,
Flower Night,
Flour Knight,
dare I introduce ...
Flour Night
Up in the sky, it's a bird, it's a plane, no, it's Flour Night.
The savior of our city.
Able to dust bad guys with a single fling.
Able to sift through (something or another)
It's ...
FLOUR NIGHT!!!
(ok, just no.)
With #5 about half-baked, I mean half-done;
It's time to start thinking about number 6.
- I could ...
- All new cast of characters
- Step outside the keeping everything pre-shut-down
- Just continue like the first 5, but with more Kolissa
So it's settled, Necrophillia and Super Fire Dragon will get married.
Did I just give away a plot point?
I meant Totally Awesome Dude and Umbral Schrumbral will duel to the death.
What might be funny:
Not Another Hero and Wong Tong Suey try to carry on a conversation.
It would read like "Huck Finn"!

After they changed the tutorial, to be nothing like the rest of the game, they ignored Flower Knight.
Sometimes you would see her in Ouroborus, but that was it.
That would have been interesting if they gave the Statesman task force to her.
More probable would have been to give STF to Ms. Liberty, as they did, and make Flower Knight the trainer in Atlas.
They had Ms. Liberty in three places at once, and that's just not right.
Wow, a quick in my head after two beers calculations puts the number of views of all the "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series, including the forum at over 10,000.
That's 10,000 people have read my fan fiction without a single complaint.
I'm honored.
And that is why I have one blue star.

Remind me to buy a calculator.
So which do you prefer.
A few long posts infrequent
or several short posts like every day
or a long dry spell?
I haven't written nothing in a while because I got a virtual bag of flaming dog droppings.
I really really hate malware right now.
Every once in a while, I like to re-visit some of the old stories and add some commentery.
So Gold Side is headed toward incarnate trials.
Anybody remember the finer details of those?
No?
Good, I can make [grapefruit] up.
A friend of mine thinks that people just wander into my fan fiction, thinking, "I wonder what this is?", and then they don't come back.
What a noob!
Ok, here's the deal.
It's only fair to tell you what's going on.
My fan fiction Gold Side is starting to sound like a cross between Red Side and Task Force.
So I'm casually trying to think of some idea to make Gold Side stand on it's own.
I have some ideas perculating, but nobody uses perculators anymore, espacially when you have a starbucks gift card, am I right or am I right.
Ok, I thought about bringing in No-No-Bad-Kitty.
No-No-Bad-Kitty is a fun-loving good-times cat-man character created by a friend of mine.
Really I only have one joke about No-No-Bad-Kitty and it's mildly amusing.
I thought about introducing love and romance into the story. I'm thinking that Hero Commander and Kolissa might have something going on. That love stuff doesn't fit the story.
I guess I need to continue to write your dose of CoH. There are several aspects of the game I haven't fully explored yet.
I'm thinking that a detailed account of a battle might be a bit boring ...
"Super Fire Dragon used his breath of fire on the escaping prisoner. The Escaping Prisoner said, "Ouch!" Kolissa used confusion on a group of escaping prisoners. The hold didn't work. Super Spine Wolf fired poisoned spines into a group of escaping prisoners. Necrophillia sent her zombies after some escaping prisoners.
Yeah, pretty boring stuff, well maybe the way I tell it.
I know, a cheese fight.
Ok, ok, no cheese fight. Boy, my fans can be insistant.
I don't think that I want to play Monopoly with Kolissa.
Yes, I stole another story. It was supposed to be a telephone chat, but the posts were too few and far apart.
Now it is a side story about Super Fire Dragon, who else right.
So the premise is that there is a low-level agent hero for whom SFD is a mentor.
SFD sends him missions and such, like a CoX contact.
Ms. Liberty is the dragon's superior. Ms. Liberty runs everything now.
Like my first story, he does not have a name.
This one is going to be short, sort of an outlet for the precision I feel sometimes from Gold Side.
Write five short stories about the same thing and you will probably understand.
Ok, so the question is, (in the telephone call story).
Is he a bad guy or a good guy.
Show of hands.
"Paragon Avenger's writting seems stilted and out of touch with the common man." --Critic A.
"Paragon Avenger should give up writing, and go into shoe sales." - --Critic B.
"After reading 'Where Have All The Heroes Gone' I want to gauge out my own eyes." --Critic C.
Critics are raving about 'Where Have All The Heroes Gone' series.
I almost had a professional writer look at this series and give it a big thumbs up, but that writer graciously and politely said that she was too busy.
This must mean that once you start reading "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" you can't put it down. And to think, you get me for free.
Here's what somebody had to say about "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series:

He hid his money in a secret hollow in his left shoe. This was the new reality. You had to take whatever precautions you could think of in Atlas Park these days. Gone were the good old days when you could walk down the street unaware of your surroundings. When if some Hellions tried anything, five heroes would jump them. As you would back away, you would see the bad guys frozen, inside fire circles with electricity shooting towards them. And a weird hum, and a green aura filling the area. What a sight to see.
"You had to take whatever precautions you could think of" is grammatically correct. However, its also second person. Second person has implications. It dictates to the reader. As a result, it can be distancing: the reader tends not to build their own sense of perspective, their own viewpoint, because they are being told what they see, what they think, what they feel. It can make it difficult for readers to become invested in anything. Grammar can tell you what your weapons are shooting at. Grammar can tell you if you're aiming at the right things. Were you trying to create distance between the reader and the story? Or did you want to pull them in? The meaning of the words say one thing, the structure of the writing says something else. How about this:
Quote
He hid his money in the secret hollow in his left shoe. This was his new reality. Gone were the good old days when you could walk down the streets of Atlas Park unaware of your surroundings. When if some Hellions tried anything, five heroes would jump them. He remembered the days when it was the criminals who had to be cautious, lest they find themselves frozen inside fire circles with electricity shooting towards them. When a weird hum and a green aura filling the area was a sign to everyone that while they might not be exactly safe on the streets of Paragon City, there was always someone watching. They were a sight to see. But now he was the one taking precautions, wondering what might jump out at him, for trying to cross the street.
I'm not saying this is better (nor am I judging your writing specifically, it was just a convenient example).
Everyone is talking about "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series.
Any thoughts on "Gold Side"?
Whoa, slow down, let me get a pencil.
Alright, alright, I think you will like what's coming.
Did we like the ending of that telephone story?
I think Josh was my favorite character, well besides Super Fire Dragon, of course.
Kolissa is one of a kind.
I do feel sorry for Ella, a bit, but it's her own fault.
Others may try, but you know where the cool kids hang-out.
"Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series, now available in your grocier's freezer, (ok, I lied about the freezer.)
Wowee, there's about 50 people looking in on Gold Side for time to time. Let's see, there were about 60,000 CoH players, and about 5,000 people on on the Titan Forum, that makes 813,454 people who love the "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series!
(Super Fire Dragon taught me math.)
I wonder if I should write the wedding story of Ice and Jenny.
Probably not, unless ...
You know you can make comments here about the story, right?
Well you can.
And I will read your post.
I might responded by questioning the conditions of your birth, but I will read your post.
Actually, I take all replies in stride, and if I can make the story better by heeding some friendly advice, where's the harm?
Ok, if you want another story after Gold Side, but in the Where Have All The Heroes Gone series, response now with "Blue Side, Please"
If you want anther story featuring different characters, respond with, "Something Different Already, geez."
About 80 views since the last "reply" on 5.
Wow, 80 people are willing to read my story for free.
Yup, I didn't pay them nothing.
They're making a movie, how clever.
SFD: Listen, PA, we love your stuff.
PA: Great, good news.
SFD: We need you to do this next post as if you were standing in the middle of the grocery store looking for cheese.
PA: Ok, what kind of cheese.
SFD: Cheddar, and then all of a sudden like ...
PA: Yeah-yeah-yeah ...
SFD: You realize
PA: Yes
SFD: that
PA: what?
SFD: You aren't wearing pants.
PA: Extra Sharp Cheddar or regular?
SFD: Extra Sharp, of course.
PA: Ok, thanks SFD.
When you start taking direction from one of your characters, it's time for the rubber room.
So, what do we want "Where Have All The Heroes Gone: Blue Side" to be about?
Huh, Grav-Knight and Necrophillia, huh, what do you think.
This will be modelled after the first Where Have story with Necrophillia teaching Grav-Knight about being a hero, which will be interesting because Necrophillia started in Praetoria.
Of course, Necrophillia can count past 11d12.
"Cheese is not a number!"
Yes, I have started "Where Have All The Heroes Gone #6: Blue Side".
I might be giving away some trade secrets, but I have no idea where it's going to go. Just like the first 5, I only have a rough idea of what I might want to do. For proof, look at Task Force. Anyway, I hope to reveal more of Necrophillia's personality without delving into her "hobby" as it were.
Blue Side could be like Red Side and SFD returns rolled into one, but better.
So I had an idea for "Blue Side".
Grav-Knight would run into the tailor shop and ...
Necrophillia: No! You're doing it wrong!
Me: Help! there are zombies after me.
Necrophillia and Kolissa are interesting together. I should do more stuff with just those two.
I have made it clear that Necrophillia has Necrophila, so they aren't gay. They can be funny together, but the silly factor is low. Super Fire Dragon adds silly and the way Kolissa talks to him increases her above-it-all status. If you remember in Red Side
Super Fire Dragon is at least her equal as a superhero. SFD has the same relationship with Kolissa that he has with Ms. Liberty, except that Ms. Liberty is his boss, sort of.
So you see the problem, maybe Umbral Schrumbral would work out. There is Totally Awesome Dude that we really didn't get to know very well. The Tattered Avenger and the Paragon Comptroller characters might be able to help. Some Nut with a Gun, of course, why didn't I see that earlier. Thanks readers.
Looks like Blue Side is slowly building a following.
I write these stories for me, but it doesn't hurt to see a ton of views since the last one.
So, if you want to help inspire me, read it multiple times and trick me into thinking great hords are demending another entry.
As Umbral Schrumbral might say: Couldn't hurt.
Developer 13: PA, booby, I heard that you're writing another story.
Me: That is correct.
Developer 13: I hope you remember who helped you get your start.
Me: I just, one day, decided that I should try this Fan Fiction stuff.
Developer 13: Look, I ain't saying who said what, baby, what am I talking about?
Me: What are you talking about?
Developer 13: Do I have to spell it out for you. Put me in that story, already.
Me: I don't know.
Developer 13: You're such a kidder. Listen, either I'm in that story or you're going to wish you had.
Me: What do you mean?
Developer 13: Have I ever told you how JavaScript was created? It's a six hour story.
Me: Don't you threaten me!
Developer 13: I don't want it to come to that. Think it over.
Developer 13 walks away.
Me: No wonder I deleted that guy.
Yikes!
Grav-Knight had better not upset Necrophillia again.
Why can't that dragon learn to trust Ms. Liberty?
If you haven't read the post of October 16 or 17 of WHATHG: #6, you probably should before reading this.
Ms. Liberty truly is a crafty old gal.
Yes, I started another story.
Yes, it is a bit more interesting than #6, Blue Side.
No, I have not abandoned this series.
Yes, Blue Side maybe the last story of the series.
As I write this an idea for number 7 popped into my head.
I'll consider that for a while.
Meanwhile, thanks for reading this non-sense.
Wow, I really do like writing this junk. I hope you enjoy reading it.
What if Necrophillia and Tommy B. get together?
BrassFox and Super Fire Dragon could have a duel.
I started the "Paragon Avenger Fan Site" so that I could roleplay as an author.
I guess that it was too subtle.
Anyway, I made over 2800 posts, they all can't be gems.
Well, I guess this forum can be for both the "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series and "The Story of THeM".
I've been sick lately and not feeling up to writing stuff. Here's to hoping that I get to feeling better and get back to my normal productive self.
SFD: Yo, PA.
Me: What, Dragon?
SFD: I've been reading "The Story of THeM"
Me: Really? So what do you think?
SFD: Well, it's ok, I suppose, but ...
Me: But what?
SFD: It's lacking something.
Me: Like what?
SFD: Like me, you doofus.
Me: Super Fire Dragon, you can't be in every story.
SFD: Why, I have been so far.
Me: Yes, but that's different.
SFD: How so?
Me: Well, for one thing, it doesn't take place in Paragon City or the Rogue Isles.
SFD: Really. Where does it take place then?
Me: Real life.
SFD: It'll never sell.
Me: Dragon!
SFD: Ok, ok, what else is different about it?
Me: Well orindary people are doing things, no supers.
SFD: No supers! Now I'm certain it won't sell.
Me: But you don't understand.
SFD: I understand plenty.
Me: Now, Dragon.
SFD: No, really.
Me: Ok, how do you see it?
SFD: I think that you're trying to replace me with cheap foreign workers who do the work Americans simply won't do.
Me: That's ridiculous.
SFD: Oh yeah, how much cheese are you paying that Tommy B. guy?
Me: I'm not paying him any cheese.
SFD: I knew it, cheap foreign labor.
(Great, now I feel like Jeff Dunham.)
I'm thinking that #6 will be the last of the WHATHG series.
Hey, stop cheering.
I stole the Eastgate Affair.
What to do with it?
The idea I had for #7 was not big enough, so it might get folded into #6.
Maybe if Ms. Liberty went to South Korea, we could get our game back.
So what do you think:
- Fred surrenders
- Fred hides what Kolissa wants
- Fred destorys it
- Fred battles Kolissa
- Fred calls another hero
- The whole thing was a trap set by Ms. Liberty
- The whole thing was a trick by Kolissa
- Hero Commander puts 2 & 2 together
- Kolissa admends it
Flower Knight: Excuse me, PA
Me: Yes, Flower Knight?
Flower Knight: A bunch of us were wondering if we were going to be in any more stories.
Me: I'm not sure, why do you ask?
Flower Knight: Well, when they changed the tutorial, I was out of work. So, I started hanging out in Ourouborous.
Me: I much needed vacation.
Flower Knight: Well, now I want back in the action.
Me: I see.
Flower Knight: Maybe I could fight Necrophillia or Kolissa.
Me: They would tear you to pieces.
Flower knight: It was just a thought, you don't have to rub it in.
Me: Sorry Flower Knight.
Flower Knight: By the way, I don't like Flower Night or Flour Knight and especially Flour Night.
Me: Oh, well about those, you see.
Flower Knight: Save it mister.
Me: Look, they are tribute toons to you, but not you so I can make them do stuff that you wouldn't do.
Flower Knight: So super Fire Dragon was right, you are using cheap foreign labor doing the work that Americans simply won't do.
There has to be a pill I can take to stop these conversations.
Ok, the THeM Story is coming along or hit a dead end one of the two, I think.
Blue Side might be wrapping up soon.
Eastgate Affair might have a guest writer.
Necrophillia: hey, PA, I heard that you are writing a drama.
Me: That's right.
Necrophillia: Well, I can be pretty dramatic.
Me: yes, you can most definitely.
Necrophillia: So put me in the story why don't you.
Me: You really wouldn't fit in.
Necrophillia: Ah, cheap foreign labor doing the work that Americans simply won't do.
Me: No, who told you that?
Necrophillia: A little birdie.
Me: A little birdie?
Necrophillia: Well, he did have wings.
Me: The Dragon?
Necrophillia: The Dragon.
Me: Don't listen to him, he just wants cheese.
Necrophillia: Are you sure, because I know some people who are just dying to meet you.
Me: You mean, just dead.
Necrophillia: How dare you. (she became angry and grew taller in a fountain of fire)
Me: Necrophillia, calm down.
Necrophillia: Sorry about that. (she returned to her lovable goth self.)
Me: Look, the story is about how a group of people are trying to buy the game City of Heroes.
Necrophillia: Why would they want to do that?
Me: So they can start the game back up.
Necrophillia: tell them to stop.
Me: Why?
Necrophillia: Because, I haven't been sent to the hospital in 3 years. let's keep it that way.
Me: How about the time Kolissa shot you with her poison darts?
Necrophillia: I said, let's keep it that way.
Me: But Necrophillia, be reasonable, surely you miss the work, the excitment, the challenge and so forth.
Necrophillia: Are you deaf, I said, let's keep it that way.
Why did I ever roll-up a necromancer with necrophilia?
O-M-G it's true! It's all true! Super Fire Dragon told me you were up to no good.
Not even going to pay me a cheese donut???
Your not only going for CHEAP foreign labour, you want free too???
SFD and I are going on strike and Flower Knight too, that makes it a threesome. If you want in on a threesome making it a moresome then you better start stocking up on a lot of cheese, baby!!!
Just wait until Ms. Liberty hears about all this, then you will be sorry!!!
Now, FD, we never really did discuss financial terms.
I figure we could be partners and split everything right down the middle 30/70.
The extra for me is because it was my idea, and there are certain fees that must be covered.
Like writers' fees.
Here's another review of "Where Have All The Heroes Gone" series.
"(Laughing out loud) you're a pretty good writer PA." --Forum Poster.
Sorry Aggy, I promised to stop misquoting people.
30 a day? I cant eat that many Nuclear Orange Cheese Donuts! 3 a day will be fine. I am cheap but not free :p
I am off strike now, thanks Avenger, it's nice to be appreciated, huggles :)
Three donuts a day, you're going to bankrupt me.
I was thinking 30 a year.
Fattinator: Yo, Super Fire Dragon.
SFD: What is it Fats?
Fattinator: I was reading PA's story about the attempt to buy City of Heroes.
SFD: Yeah. I had a talk with PA about putting me in that story.
Fattinator: Well it must have worked, you're in like Flynn.
SFD: Flynn who?
Fattinator: I don't know, but you're in like him.
SFD: Really?
Fattinator: Yup, read the latest entry.
Ooopsy!
I forgot that I was headquartering ParagonSoft in "The THeM Story" in Vietnam.
Since, I had Dum Luk use a Korean word and had Ms. Liberty send Super Fire Dragon to Seoul, it had to be Korea.
This writing stuff is harder than it looks.
Kolissa has been naughty, yup, nothing but coal in her stockings.
Tommy B. is planning, planning and planning.
Warp met a girl, young love.
Super Fire Dragon is everywhere.
And I'm still a noob.
Life is grand.
"I don't know, you know. With PA, his writing makes me giggle and remember the fun I had playing City of."
--Unknown poster, (PA wearing a wig, fake glasses, fake nose and mustache.)
"I enjoy reading the 'Where Have All The Heroes gone' series. Thank You PA."
--PA using a falsetto voice.
"Yaeh, PA, is that is name? anyway, good stories."
--PA using a low manly voice.
The question was raised, what advice would a writer give a newbie writer.
Writing is easy.
First, write a story.
Second, proofread until you hate every single word you wrote.
Third, repeat.
Easy!
No, writing is fun.
Well, you do have to follow strict rules and guidelines.
And sometines you want to write X, but first you need to write T, U and V even.
And then there's writing an interesting thing about a character, but then you realize that it won't work with this other thing.
For example, SFD has the afflection of not understanding human numbers. More than once, I had wished I didn't do that. If I tried to take it back now, we are talking tons of re-write. So be careful what afflections you hoist onto your characters.
Also, there is the good-line syndrome, I call it that, just now.
You're writing along and bang, I great line occurs to you. The problem is that the perfect character to say that line, just spoke the set-up for that line. Either re-write, or have the character realize the set-up, or easier still, give it to another character that it sort of fits. Maybe as a get even kind of deal.
Then there's the description, I usually ignore. I figure that this is CoX, you know what Atlas Park looks like, geez.
For other things, you can get trapped in too much or too little description. Readers want to read action or story, but they need description too.
One last thing, I started writing this fan fiction crud about a year ago, and that makes me an expert.
Well, I do have a BA degree, so that counts too.
Yeah, writing's a blast.
Ok, here's the deal, Number 6 and Seoul overlap a little. The THeM story mentions Seoul, but erronously credits Mercedes Blake. Unless I think of something else, number 6 will be the last of the "Where Have All the Heroes Gone" series. Hey, stop cheering.
Eastgate is just hitting its stride.
--we introduced Cheerleader
--there might be romance
Seoul, is just beginning.
--number 6 is setting it up
--Kolissa and the Dragon need to get back together.
Ms. Liberty is being ruthless.
What could this mean?
Ms. Liberty reads Mercedes Lackey.
I told VV about Ms. Liberty reading her work.
Quote from: Victoria Victrix on February 02, 2016, 05:29:02 AM
Well if you are in the world of CoH, Victoria Victrix is a romance novelist there. It's been in my character bio since I5.
So I figured that I had to write her in.
VV storms into Nate's, I mean Tommy B.'s office. That's funny.
"The THeM Story" cast
BrassFox played by IronWolf
Tommy B. played by Nate of City of Titans
Mercedes Blake played by Mercedes Lackey
But in no way is any character of that story actually the real life person, I don't know them well enough. Should that be "THeM well enough"? Yeah, any resemblance of a character to an actual person living or dead is purely coinsidential. So don't take it to heart. And don't sue for liable.
My lawyer will call your lawyer, they'll do lunch.
Felicity Device, or whatever her name was, was suppose to help me write "The Eastgate Affair" that I stole from that other guy.
"Where Have All The Heroes Gone: 6" can't finish until "Super Fire Dragon Gets Some Seoul" is finished.
And "SFD Gets Some Seoul" can't finish until #6 Blue Side is finished.
I guess I kind of messed that up.
"The THeM Story" has no place to go.
This isn't writer's block, this is writer's gridlock.
Stay cool, I'll figure it out.
Ok, I figured it out.
I ended #6 and sent Kolissa to SFD's apartment.
It's perfect.
Advanced plot planning, reading it is optional at this point.
After reading today's installment, I think our dragon could have been a travel agent.
Wow, I suppose that I had better get back to writing this junk.
Can't leave the readers hanging.
Who all wants a picture of Kolissa in a swimsuit?
Yup, I stole another story.
I only steal abandoned stories.
Well, and stories with bad endings, IMHO.
Everybody needs to start writing a story, and maybe I might steal it too.
Ok, I started another one.
The story of THeM is depressing.
The Eastgate Affair is hard work
Super Fire Dragon gets some Seoul is fun, but I want to keep it fresh.
So, the adventures of Dev & TAD in play form.
It makes logically sense, maybe not in this reality, but some where.
Anybody know what a 20-12 is?
Poor Dragon, I think he's strung out on Colby.
Ok, I need to keep writing these stories, but at the moment I have no motivation to continue.
Basically,
SFDGSS is spiraling out of control.
The THeM Story is stuck, can of like the THeM in real life.
Eastgate Affair seems boring to me right now; I'm not sure why it does.
The Story of DEV & TAD needs me to plan out what they are going to do.
So I'm screwed.
A lesser writer would simply give-up, but not me. I'll fix it.
(by lesser writer I mean, of course, a writer who actually knows something about writing. I don't let such trivila stand in my way.)
Flour Nght: Hey, PA
Me: Oh, hi Flour Night
Flour Night: I must admit that I like your light-hearted stories about SFD
Me: Thank you so much for saying so; it really does mean a lot.
Flour Night: You are so welcome.
Me: I wish more people would tell me what they think of my writings.
Flour Night: Oh no you don't, trust me on this, you don't want to know.
Me: (sigh)
I recently wrote something and looked at the view number, when I looked again both my readers have punched on it. This gives me encouragement. Plus I read something that somebody else had posted here and I thought that you guys deserve better or at least my stuff.
Anyway, SFD discovers cheese danish, this is bad, very bad.
How many fence posts will be needed? Are they out of their executive minds!
I have got to get back to these stories.
So do you think that Tommy B. should break Necrophillia out of jail?
How about Warp falling in love with Kolissa?
Do you think Super Fire Dragon should sucker punch The Fattinator?
Writing these stories isn't as much fun as it once seemed.
I promise to not leave any story hanging. (were my fingers crossed?)
Loose ends to date:
Jenny & Ice Mannix
Their Baby
Necrophillia in jail for something Kolissa did
Kolissa and Super Fire Dragon on a mission
Marshall Darkness & Melissa (Rare Earth)
Frost-Zapper
The Fattinator
TAD & Dev
Warp & Company
Tommy B. & Company
Flower Night
Flour Knight
Flour Night
Doc X-Rays
And possibly others
I don't know why I am having so much fun with that stupid PTA notice thread, but I am.
Is Kolissa great or what?
SFD: Hey, PA, got a sec.
Me: For you, anytime.
SFD: First, thank you for all the cheese that you have sent my way.
Me: You are welcome, glad I could help.
SFD: Yeah, see, that's just it.
Me: What do you mean?
SFD: Must I be in ever flipping story? You're helping too much.
Me: That's a great idea, Thanks Super Fire Dragon.
SFD: No, don't put me in ever story.
Me: Too late, already decided.
SFD: Great, just great.
We both laughed.
SFD: PA!
Me: Yes.
SFD: You gone and done it.
Me: What?
SFD: Don't play coy with me
Me: Ok, sorry, what are you talking about, dragon!
SFD: You gone and put me in the "Eastgate Affair"
Me: yeah, he-he
SFD: They're going up against Frostfire in the Hollows!
Me: So.
SFD: I'm a level 53 incarnate, Frostfire is level 15 at the most.
Me: Yes, but you don't understand numbers, remember.
SFD: I hate you, PA.
We both laughed
I asked a writer for some encouragement, this is what I got ...
- There's many a bestseller that could have been prevented by a good teacher.
- Everywhere I go, I'm asked if the universities stifle writers. My opinion is that they don't stifle enough of them.
- I am not afraid that the book will be controversial, I'm afraid it will not be controversial.
- I find that most people know what a story is until they sit down to write one.
- I don't desrve any credit for turning the other cheek as my tongue is always in it.
Sounds like this writing stuff is a piece of cheese, as Super Fire Dragon might say.
Yeah, I started another story.
Well, at least this time it wasn't an abandonded story.
Well, I kind of stole the idea from another story about Zot.
But any resembalance yadda-yadda-yadda.
SFD: Yo, Pa. Got a minute.
Me: Oh hi, Super Fire Dragon. What can I do for you?
SFD: About this new story you just started.
Me: Yeah, isn't it great?
SFD: Well, no actually.
Me: What? Everybody loves my writing, especially Arcana.
SFD: Well, I'm not everybody.
Me: You don't like it?
SFD: You catch on fast, genius.
Me: hey, I'm not no genius, evil or otherwise.
SFD: Whatever.
Me: So why don't you just love this "All The Good Names Were Taken" story.
SFD: It is distracting you from the story about me, me, me, me!
Me: So you're saying that perhaps you would like to be in this new story in some way?
SFD: No! No-no-no-no-no-no-no!
Me: So what are you saying?
SFD: Finish onestroy before starting another.
Me: Where's the fun in that? One story at a time.
SFD: Great, just great.
We both laughed.
Perhaps when I finish one of these stories, I'll make a story about Power_Gamer.
I'm thinking that "The Eastgate Affair" fan fiction story finished.
It is sort of a rinse-lather-repeat ending.
I don't really wanna write the FrostFire battle.
I put up another post on The PENGUIN thread I have going a few days back. :) I haven't forgotten my Waddle.
I think I speak for several people here and a few over there when I say that we all love Waddles.
(see what I did there)
Is it just me, or does anybody else read these stories?
Kolissa found something.
Dragon got mad
Security Chief is going to be trouble.
Can I write or what?
Shut-up, Brooks.
Tubbs, fair warning.
I sometimes find stories other players have "lost".
I hope you didn't "lose" that Penguin Story.
Spoiler Alert for The Dragon Gets Some Seoul:
Yeah, it seemed like something that was long over-due, but that's how these things go.
ok, I chickened out and didn't make SFD a murderer.
Kolissa is in prison.
And so, I hi-jacked another story.
All's fair is love and fan-fiction, but don't mess with my stories.
I was planning on stealing "The Penguin Story", but instead, I found a long dead story about trouble, and decided to give PA a story. I'm sure SFD will pop into that story at same point.
Should I steal the Penguin Story?
Waddle needs somebody to add to his adventures.
Tubbs has done a good job so far, but certain thinds need clarified.
I write the stories;
You read them and laugh out loud;
What will I write next?
Ms. Liberty isn't the Granddaugther of Statesman?
This is bad, very bad.
Is there anybody there?
Does anybody care?
Team Banter, sounds promising.
