Hello, my name is Jeff Smith, CoH'ers might have known me as Mindscythe on the Pinnacle server, or DJ Mindscythe on w00t Radio. For the last several years, I've been working on a documentary that addresses the commonly-held stereotypes about gamers and reveals the truth behind the stereotypes.
This all started with a City of Heroes meet-and-greet outside of Dayton, Ohio several years ago. Eight of my fellow players from Pinnacle were nice enough to let me interview them, and those interviews became the backbone of the film.
The documentary, called "The Gamer Evolution," was completed in 2013. It had its local premiere, got picked up by an international film festival, and netted three competition awards. Now, I'm happy to announce that my co-producer and I have decided to release the film publicly.
To view the documentary (which clocks in at 31 minutes), head to www.thegamerevolution.org (http://www.thegamerevolution.org) or watch it on Vimeo at https://vimeo.com/99873156 (https://vimeo.com/99873156) (mobile friendly)!
And a huge shout-out to the City of Heroes community, and the mad drunkards on the Pinnacle server, for their help. Without them, this would never have been possible. :) I hope you enjoy a little deserved revelation about us gamers!

That was interesting; thank you for sharing!
Will watch when I get home. I can hide spending time posting here but not watching a video!
Excellent! And quite a lot of COH pics and views. :)

It's what I was playing (religiously), where all my interviews came from, and allowed me to provide a sense of thematic consistency throughout. It also allowed me to be "virtual me" which meant I didn't have to be on camera as much (I'm a radio guy, so "in front of the camera" is the last place I want to be). :)
