I've just submitted a 3,000 word editorial covering the shutdown to the NY Post's "Post Game Report" blog, which is run by my best friend.
I recap the general sequence of events leading up to the shutdown, touch on the sit-down protests in the AP's, the letter-writing and petition campaigns, celebrity dissatisfaction, personal stories from myself and members of my supergroup about why the game was important to us, and some thoughts I had while watching the actual shutdown process on Twitch.
It's going to go live late tonight (Monday 11/3) or early tomorrow. I will edit this post to include the link.
Be forewarned, my friend gave it a read this morning and said, quote, "It hit me right in the feels." And he's never played the game. Manly tears may be shed.
