Must have been a different Vee, i've not played CO since the beta.
Hrrrm the in-game name isn't Vee. I got you mixed up with someone else I can't even seem to remember that's been playing since, probably, beta. My bad.
CoH's heavily populated days isn't usually what I think of when I remember CoH. I mean, I miss them sure, but, when I think of CoH the image that nearly always comes to mind is the world coming to an end and we all knew it was coming and there wasn't a thing we could do about it except make the most of our last moments and say our goodbyes - that image is followed by the feeling of being in the world I had come to be very happy to be in one second and the next I was looking at a screenful of "You Have Been Disconnected" and then I think of how we all handled how the world ended and how telling it was. CoH was at its realest. This is what I generally think of when I think of CoH.
When CoH was (apparently) revived I was deep into STO. Then I finally got unmetered Internet again and finally got to play the sequel to the first ever graphical online mmo which was also the first ever graphical online MMO I ever played - Neverwinter. I didn't expect to leave STO completely but I seem to have for now. It's still a great game I'm just not playing it lately.
Today... I actually have been thinking about CoH lately in a thinking about trying to play it kinda way. I am getting a little Neverwinter burnout already. If I play any game outside of whatever Cryptic is currently doing it for sure will be CoH unless some unforeseen thing happens (an alien technology console drops from the sky complete with online account and games or maybe I'm abducted by aliens and they have videos game that they want me to try, or, ya know, something like that).
Anyway, way more info that you or anyone else wanted, but, there it is. A peek into my wondrous mind.
I've been watching playthroughs of games for nearly a decade now, just not streamed.
Wow.
I never have been much for Youtube or similar type Internet.... programming for I dunno what reason. (Lukulele ring a bell to anyone..?) They had to put this stuff on something that looks like TV, for me, before I noticed it. I mean I imagine that the exact same content that I am watching on Pluto came from Youtube or somewhere else on the net but for some reason it hadn't caught my attention until I saw it on "TV". Also, I'm not looking for anything specific. I just like watching people play and I like seeing what's new out there.
I do use Youtube a lot for Neverwinter, though.. It's like a requirement to play the game.. If you haven't done your youtubes before some content (hard dungeons) some ppl won't even talk to you and I'm not kidding.
Youtube is absolutely a great source for gaming info (and how to clean your air conditioner and how to replace a broken weedhacker pull string and.. and.. : ) so I do use it, but, the experience I am enjoying with the "TV channels" is just tuning in to be entertained.. It's that we have our own channel and it's dedicated to entertaining people like us.
OH here's a good example.. Lol I would never ever ever do a Youtube search on Wil Wheaton being a DM in a D&D session but Gamer "TV" got me to watch hours of it (mostly during chores..). I didn't even know it was him until like the second time I tuned in and they were playing a further episode and I saw Wil Wheaton in the title of the content and was trying to figure out why they put his name in there and then.. it dawned on me that the nerdy bearded DM was him..
He seems like a pretty darn good DM btw.
...(despite the title, it's not just Amiga games)
...(though this one is mostly C64 games)
Amiga and C64 hehe. Memory lane. Commodore used to have the most games of any PC, for years, when I worked at a retail software reseller. They had the most shelves of games. PC came next. Apple was in there somewhere but their niche was mostly in educational stuff due to that's how Apple was keeping their foot in the door. Mac had a few (square pixels ftw!). Amiga had a few but what they had blew everything else away graphicwise. Way away. Way way away. : )
Anyway yay and thx : )
