A little explanation:
Many people here on Titan have shared their screens of the final moments on Dec 1 2012. They're holding torches in Atlas Park or doing other emotes in assorted favorite locations.
Well, 15 minutes before midnight, I'd just finished the hilarious Mender Tesseract SF and darted off to Peregrine Island. People were scattered throughout the island fending off those pesky aliens. I immediately broadcast a Rikti Invasion league forming, and ended up leading a league encompasing everyone in the entire zone. We were doling out
epic devastation to the Rikti when, finally, everything ground to a depressing, infinite halt.
This screenshot is from my demo of that final, glorious battle. Floride died as he lived - shoulder to shoulder with close friends and PUGs alike, defending his city from the malevolent forces intent on destroying it.
We were heroes, it was what we did.
And in Peregrine on Libs, a ragtag band of misfit heroes and villains
died proving it.
This was the last image I ever saw in game. And I wouldn't trade this memory for anything in the world.
