Thanks, important topic!  Simone supports this thread 100%!

This is Simone:

On October 19th, she will participate in the 7th annual Fairfax County K9 Krawl 5k, an event to publicize a great police program that allows victims of domestic abuse to place their pets into protective custody when they leave the abuser.  Apparently it's all too common for abusers to threaten to harm pets if the victim speaks out or goes for help.

Simone is seven and a half and has walked (usually tried to run) in all six previous Krawls -- she's been in every one.  She has a very nurturing personality and has doubled back to lick and encourage other dogs who have difficulty with the walk.  Last year she saved a basset hound from running into traffic when his leash broke.

She's definitely against domestic violence -- she hates raised voices.
