Alright, in the recent times I been traveling from game to game trying out stuff. Many just for the hell of it others, just for the hell of it.
One game I recently came across and tried out is Scarlet Blade. Its in Open beta or rather at least was last time I logged on. Been about a week.
It's...different than most other games I tried to say the least yet so similar to the average MMO out there.
It's familiar in the fact that every one look the same if they pick the same class.
Familiar in the fact it has click to move option
Familiar in the fact the default controls seemed to require the mouse and letter button to move. I'm classic control lover. I found a way to effectively move with the arrows which involved inverted camera and now movement works just like my setup in COX CO and other game of that sort.
It's gear based. What you wear affect the stats.
There is a lot of open missions but spawns regenerate quick.
I find it curious that most mobs don't attack you on sight, but seemed not uncommon in those types of games.
Different in that it's all female characters and definitely not meant for kids. Seriously. I wouldnt recommend anyone letting their kid play this game. But I'm not the parent so it is what it is but it wouldnt be logical to get angry and offended when the kid see some things that is adult material. This game is adult material. It seems to be about clones, all females, trying to save the world or something. Now this dont bother me, but when you have something this apologetically sexual in nature and you add to the mix other humans, things get a little strange and creepy with some people's behavior but nothing too far from what can be found in just about any game. Again, this game isnt for the modest and expect everything in their lives and others to be modest, and I dont mean in a bad way it's just this game dont hide it.
Thus far actually not much ERP I seen yet but then again 99.9999199299299999% of the time I'm in my own little world so may have missed it. At least none bothered me with it.
Although much of the player base do have a tendency to stick to the shout channel. Not sure what that is about I guess people like shouting over there.
In the beta stage, it's light on content but more than likely will increase later down the road. It's free thus far, seemingly depending on micro transactions. The store currency can get pricey but hey, we all have hundreds and hundreds of dollars laying around in the sofa cushions right? :p
Graphically, it's ok. It dont seem to go for realism more like a fantasy/sci fi feel to it.
Overall solid game, seems a bit on the easy side so far but rumor is that they will crank it up later. Keyword there, Rumor.
I probably wont stick around too much longer, sci-fi fantasy not my cup of tea but solid game if one don't care or is not bothered by mature stuff. But I'm neutral about the game. Dont particularly like it but don't particular dislike it. I see it for me as something to do here and there about 2-3 times a year to play.
Obvious Open beta tip- Dont get too deep in the character or attached. Word is they plan on wiping everything clean by the next step.
