That's awesome. :D
We were heroes. We were villains. At the end of the world we all fought as one. It's what we did that defines us.
The end occurred pretty much as we predicted: all servers redlining until midnight... and then no servers to go around.

Somewhere beyond time and space, if you look hard you might find a flash of silver trailing crimson: a lone lost Spartan on his way home.

I'd give that a firm no. Of course, doesn't mean whoever set up the images was a fan. They might've just seen Statesman somewhere.

This is think geek, they make their bones by being directly in touch with their customers. half of the products in their inventory were either requested by, or outright designed by, thinkgeek.com customers. so much so that they now do a sort of venture capital thing, splitting profits with people who create things for "think geek labs" and "created at think geek"

so yeah, someone knew this was pretty much targeted right at people playing City of Heroes, CO, DCUO, and Marvel, and while DCUO and Marvel would ream them for using a character, CoX is a dead property practically in the public domain via abandonment. Of course, they've also thumbed their nose and C&D letters before, between Canned Unicorn Meat, and Jayne hats, and the like.

Just putting this out there...
If you have a costume, for 300 bucks you can be you own 3d-printed hero.

I think it speaks more to the generic nature of Statesman. Honestly, that character design, FOR ME, reeks of "generic hero #672". The only unique thing about the design is the faceplate which I do not like. Nakayama was able to make it look cool a few times, but overall it looks silly just glued to his mask.

To be fair, in game they at least went with a darker red and blue so it wasn't the patriotic crayons look.  Besides, he was an old man.  Be glad that his outfit wasn't worse.
