Title: Best Video Capture
Post by: Enantiodromos on February 21, 2013, 07:15:30 PM
So, my rig is ancient, and I was farming out capturing my demos to a nice lady in my old Coalition. But I do get a lot better visual out of the client than I ever seem to get from taksi or from the 30 seconds I get w/ unlicensed FRAPs.

Is the bottleneck my (ancient) graphics card, or is there software I can that will definitely do a better job than FRAPS or Taksi?

Sorry, I'm sure this question's been asked before. I just can't find it.

There's another way to do it.

Render the demos as JPGs, use VirtualDub to compile them as AVIs. Voila, footage. The nice thing about this is you can crank the graphics settings up as much as you want because you're not trying to play the game while filming. :)

Hey Sam, do you have a link to any sort of guidance in using VirtualDub for that purpose? Last time I used VirtualDub was back in like 2005. The old Command I still know, admittedly the 2 of them, don't work on the current versions.

I'll have to dig through my stuff.
